What's the limiting factor for low boost?

Seems that on these Low Boost conversions the magic figure is about 230bhp or so? (And similar torques)

What's the limiting factor from going higher? Is it the internals, clutch/gearbox or just seen as being the ideal power?

What's stopping you putting in a Megane head gasket to lower the compression ratio, put a bit more boost in and go for say 250/260bhp?

I see the EFI Module can go as high as 12psi which should be more than enough for that sort of power,

Nothing, people do that and get 250/60. A few even went for Megane pistons but the cost of doing so is silly compared to just going forged.

There are a few limitations.

The main one is the gearbox i believe. But with anything if you drive the car with some care and finesse that will help.

Supercharging is a nice option as the power is more linear and not so hard on the gearbox.
