brake issue

  RB R26.R
hi Guys,

Some help please, after recently purchasing a 200 cup I found the brake pedal bite point to be moving during drives.
For example, after a long motorway section the pedal bite point is very deep, however on repeated pumping of the pedal the bite point is much earlier and more reactive.

The car is booked into a local independent garage for O.S.F bearing work as it was suspected the cause was related to this, pedal travel varying due to the traction control being affected?
When the car was serviced recently this was the only explanation, following a brake bleed and fluid replacement..

Any suggestions to the cause of the above?
thanks,
Hugh

That doesn't sound strange to me at all..I always find if the brakes have no heat in them there is more pedal travel. As you start using the brakes/pumping the brakes they hear up and bite quicker and harder until eventually they give up if you hammer them too much. Sounds normal to me

to add to the original post, the difference in pedal travel is several inches, enough to make you s**t yourself if you are simply moving the car on a driveway... you think they are never going to bite... vs. when heated half an inch to max bite..

Hmm. Maybe there is an issue. From reading previous things about the brembos some folk say you need to get heat in them before they bite higher up. I used to drive a Porsche bolster with brembos and the pedal travel was quite far, think it's to do with the fact there's 4 Pistons in there to move

Thanks for the replies. I can't see how it is brakes being warm, there is no heat variation when moving the car from cold on a driveway.
Pads fitted are mintex I think (not with the car currently)
