Alain not sure if this is relevant you can’t hold revs it deviates up and down which makes it a b**ch to pull away and an intermittent flat spot between 1500 and 2000 rpm!
Cheers for any suggestions

Had my mot done and had problems with emissions, the mot tester stuffed a rag up my exhaust to get it hotter I think he said after about ten minutes it passed the emissions. I just wondered what this does. my mpg has slowly been going down its now on 24mpg but I do a lot of short runs.

So had some new tyres and it’s like a different car, never thought tyres would do that to a car! Thanks everyone for your input

Continentals at front not sure off of top my head on back I think they are odd, I have spent a fortune on a car that wasn’t worth it and just didn’t want to spend unnecessarily and was hoping someone had had something similar, both of them did sit flat for a long time and I did read something...
Hi hope someone has come across this before, the car has been off the road along time (7 years to be exact!) and has had some bits replaced, wishbones, track rod arms, all the bushes on steering rack and antiroll bar. Everything is tight it felt a bit all over the place so got the tracking done...
Yeah I had driven it I had just put all the bumper, plastic trim headlamps etc must have fallen off something. I’m on a gravel drive and it gets everywhere must have fallen off something I had picked up, if you look in pic you can just see where it came through the belt

I used the proper Renault timing tools, I did the timing with the engine out to the Renault workshop manual and in the manual it’s says put tipex on turn it over make sure they are in the same place. The only reason the timing jumped is a stone was embedded in the belt.

I done leak down test and as air was rushing out the inlet manifold with no cams in I would have a guess they are bent. Now what to do, engine, head or bin the lot!

Yes cut the belt off as it had hole in it. being lent a compression tester tomorrow I assume as valves are all sitting up now should be quite simple ?

Yeah I was just checking before I ripped it all apart put the crankshaft pin in the stone must have made it jump teeth until it stopped gutted

Checked tipex marks out by three teeth, looked round belt and found stone embedded in belt! Took rocker cover off all the valves sittinglevel and they all push down and spring up so think I might have been lucky!
