(very)Fast road coilovers; H&R again or try the B14's ?

I've had the H&R coilovers for over 8 years now , and they were awesome. Still are , but age is getting to them. Years ago , when Fred (among others) were still here , H&R was the no1 choice. Comparing the 2 it seems the H&R's go a fair bit lower than the Billies. I really like the low...

    Bilstein B14 (172) Camber adjustment.

found out that the B14's also have the elongated top hole ! http://www.cliosport.net/threads/b14-coilovers.808026/ Prob solved, no camber bolts needed ! ^^ this is good , mind this one y'all ; when purchasing these !:nut::spanner:

Torque Top nut drivers side Vibratechnics enginemount ?

^^ yes, very sure. The way they've constructed the mount (without the little square) leaves a couple of mm play around the bolt. This is (with the abuse of my Schrick cammed engine) not going to be stopped by a nut that's tightened to 44NM  Shame the people at Vibratechnics did...

Torque Top nut drivers side Vibratechnics enginemount ?

I've read the oem torque-setting on this on is 44NM (?) The OEM mount had a "square" hole where the engine-part of the mount would precisely slide/fit over.. The Vibratechnics has a round hole, with room for play : the bolt has movement in it even when tightened up. I can see metal shaving...

    Killed my brakes!

old thread dig-up: I mounted the DS2500's and did quite some filing down on the backing plates. Terrible stuff , just changed back to OEM pads.. Even when the brakes were not on , the wheels did not run freely and got real hot. The braking (after running them in properly) was also not all...

2005 Clio 182 FF - Occasional track car

 So the brakes are ok now ? Nice ! I got some cheap second hand calipers which i'm going to send away to be rebuild/refurbed, hope this will solve my problems with mine..

    Bilstein B14 (172) Camber adjustment.

great, thanks for that. do you happen to know what the max negative adjustment would be with bolts ? 1,5 or a little less ? I now have the H&R coilovers , which are the old ones with the bottom hole "elongated" (on mounting holes front strut) . I have these on max adjustment 1,5 negative and...

    Bilstein B14 (172) Camber adjustment.

old thread dig-up! Am thinking of buying the B14's , but what brand/which camber bolts to get ?? (as i've read about some cases where they don't match up/fit ?)

    New brakes rubbing constantly

same prob here, i'll be watching this thread. I think, in my case, after 13 years and 125thousand miles the brake calipers may need a refurb !? I've smacked a load of ceramic grease here+ there, but this is a "no go" like said earlier. Pads have done 25 miles so they can still be saved i...

    172Cup; Ultralegeras 15" ; GOLD ?? or anthracite

Some of you might shrug/laugh ; but i just this week saw a blue car with gold wheels and it got me thinking.. it looked pretty damn good! But! It used to have (or still has) , sort of a "chav" reputation because of the 90's Scooby's Safer is anthracite... Easier and less cleaning as the...

Speedline 2118s, Unsprung Weight & Alternatives

these 2118's can handle all abuse you can throw at them. Heavy as hell, incredibly strong though The Cup racer 2020's are like 5,7kg (magnesium). Exact same wheel/look , total different drive

Speedline 2118s, Unsprung Weight & Alternatives

^^ second that. I just this week switched back to 16" Turinis , coming from 15" magnesium Speedline 2020's.. Very very noticeable change, car feels heavier around the corners, needs more force to turn in, feels lees nimble in general.
