The Ktec cheap coilovers? Notoriously softly spring and poorly damped so you’re unlikely I get an amazing setup whatever you try unfortunately. Are you running a small amount of rake (I.e the front ride height slightly lower than the rear)?
What’s up with it?
Funny thing is I keep debating going for a big power hike as I’ve spent all the money on handling mods.....but I’ve done 20 plus trackdays with no mechanical failures and all the funky bigger power cars always seem to have problems!
Hope it’s an easy fix and you get back out...
Ran BC’s, 8/8kg for the last 3 years now.....cracking suspension for the money I’d say. A little harder on the front needed for track only running proper Tyres!
I also run northloop roll centre kit, PMS rear anti roll bar, solid top mounts and gripper diff’d box (also from northloop...
Nice to see a thorough no expense spared approach to try and achieve reliability.....Car looks awesome!
When I had my box rebuilt for gripper diff and meg 5th I didn’t realise you could buy a new box for around £800, not sure whether they’re just reconditioned though.
Where do you source your...
Done the same on several sets of those I’ve had, but I only run at Combe and it’s only ever the n/s front (as that’s the one that gets all the hammering). I run at 30 psi hot too, always put it down to my coilover sprig rates not being hard enough causing excessive lean on that tyre.....as you...
Still keep an eye on all your updates Russ, such a cracking race Clio yours! All the right bits, not the usual rough round the edges race car and looks great in the videos......reliability is definitely key!!
What are you going for engine/spec wise for next year out of interest?
I keep...
This has always been my favourite Clio 'race car'.....drooled over it last time when you had it for sale. Awesome attention to detail with all the right bits on it and done to such a high standard! Nice work
Fronts will last me two open pit days at Castle Combe, nearside tyre will be down to canvas after that.....fronts wear very quickly, rears will do 4 days fine. Does vary with how hard you drive the car and your suspension setup (as well as each circuit eating tyres at different rates).
Awesome...
You want fixed back bucket seats for safe harness use.....there's no potential of the seat folding up and potentially crushing you in the event of a crash.
Don't know what the fuss is about.....look barely worn to me haha! Outside edge on the front will likely take a hammering, what camber are you running? Rubber on the tyres is just pickup from on track. Proper track rubber tears up far worse than that in no time......a set of yoko a048's fronts...
Neither compare to Dunlop dz03g or Yokohama a048's.....at the prices they all seem to be now I'd go for either of them if you want the best performance!
