Speaking of wheel brushes I like the EZ detail brushes. Excellent for getting between the spokes and the inner rim. Always thought those wheel Woolies looked like they would be a pain to use but they do get good reviews. Guess it depends on the design of the wheel too.

What do people recommend as a wheel cleaner , I have tried loads and nothing really has done it for me , people seem to like bilberry?

All sorts on the market from acidic based to non acidic based. I guess it depends on how grubby and contaminated the wheels are really. If theres only light dirt to shift then your regular bodywork shampoo will be enough to shift it with a good scrub. However for more contaminated areas you could try a TFR or an APC along with fallout removers to really eat in to the contamination and remove it. Whatever floats your boat really.

If you want something not too harsh for quick maintenance washes I use Meguiars wheel brightener. It ever so slightly acidic but it’s fine if you get it on and off quick.

It’s cheap too. I buy the 4 litre bottle and the you dilute that down loads to use so it lasts ages.

For medium soiled wheels ironX works for me.

For really really badly brake dusted welded on there’s a proper acid based cleaner on eBay big you need to work FAST with that.

Gtechniq W6 for me because I know it's ceramic coating friendly and still does a superb job. Maybe a tad expensive but it worked very well recently on my badly caked wheels. I'd avoid acid based cleaners as a first call. It should only really be needed for extremely contaminated wheels after other failed attempts.

i've used absolutely tonnes of different products over the years, but i always end up back with the following:

Chemical guys no touch - similar performance to b&h autofoam but alot thicker
Chemical guys maxi suds - actually suds up well and smells banging
Sonax full effect wheel cleaner - the best wheel cleaner i've ever used by far. Little to no adgitation required
Soanx brilliant shine detailer - this has always just been a steady performer for me. Reocmmend this to all my friends

it's devent stuff. Their window cleaner is pretty good too
I've tried a few of their shampoos and the finish is always good, but they don't sudd up enough imo.

Britegel from autobrite direct is brilliant, being a gel it clings on well to allow you to clean through with the brush.

@Sunglasses_Ron surely you clean the wheels first then use iron x rather than just use iron x on medium soiled wheels? Using it to clean is a waste of product

I wasn’t really taking about dirty wheels as such, I was talking more about baked on brake dust

This stuff is the f**king nuts

Get the two bottles for £40 posted so you are looking at 5l for £20 which in terms of size and price is decent and it works a treat, Alot better than some of the other stuff I have used.
