RS Tuner help

Bought an RS Tuner a while back and now I need to use it to see if I can figure out why my ABS and Airbag lights are on.

I tried to connect it to my Megane 175 just to see if it actually works and it just comes up that I don't have the modules for it and it can't connect to the ECU (I'm guessing this only has the modules for Clio II as per the previous owners spec when new)

I've updated the software and manually updated the firmware for the tuner box, running on Win10 OS. So, in theory, it should have the capability of seeing everything up until the latest Megane 4. Do I need to buy any licensing to use the diagnostic part of the Tuner box or is that just for mapping? I know the modules are sold on Fastchip but is there any specific way to determine what additional modules I may or may not have for my box?

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm gonna try and connect it to my 172 tomorrow and see if anything changes in terms of being able to connect it to cars

Cheers, any help appreciated

If it's not seeing the abs and airbag ECU then you're gonna need the modules mate

Ah just read your post properly
I bet the modules for Clio and megane are different then. It'll probably work fine on your 172

Aye fingers crossed, I'll find out for sure tomorrow. I know that the Megane modules are stupid expensive when compared to the Clio II ones!! 118 euros to have it "mapped"... f**k dat

Along with 50 euros a pop for each other module!!

As far as I know you can use them on any car as an OBD diagnostic tool, not just Renaults.

In your modules list, what does it say?

You can use the basic diagnostics on anything, but I'm not sure about the abs and airbags?

f***s sake. I'm at a wedding and about 7 pints deep. I really should read the opening post properly ?

I think that's the problem anyway.

But yeah, to do anything with the actual abs or airbags you'll need the modules.

This is mine.

Can you borrow a snap-on diagnostic from anyone? They're pretty good at showing your airbag fault location. Abs wise, just spin the wheels and check the sensor resistance first

I had a Snap-On solus and it was shite. Could never get to speak to the car for some reason.

I'm gonna use my RS tuner, just gonna buy the ABS, airbag and map on Friday. Stick a 98 RON map on to make it a bit smoother

Right well I bought the ABS and Airbag modules for it... but because I'm a monumental impatient c**t I bought them and didn't out the MUC code in the comment section part.

So now I'm in an email exchange with Henk to try and resolve it. Hopefully he's sound and doesn't just take £75 from me and leave me s**t up a f**king creek with a paddle. I told him his site needs a prompt for a code or to make it super obvious its needed, but that's just the web developer in me crying out to punch his dev team in the throat... really really hard

All because I got too giddy about the thought of having my car semi-fixed!!??
