hello all - dont whether this kind of chat is allowed on cliosport.net but its about modding the ECU 's of the Renault Clio Mk4 with DDT4all software . -if its not allowed please feel free to delete it mods.

for those that haven't heard of DDT4ALL its very powerful software to change certain parameters with an ODBII Reader (wifi/bluetooth/wired ELM327) on Renault (& Dacia) cars and most probably some other makes as well. as I say, very powerful - so much so that if you dont know what you are doing you can change something (even accidentally) that may break your car, corrupt ECU 's that control anything on the car from engine management, engine sensors, lighting, locking/security, brakes and airbags...even wipers!
So if your a novice and dont have a clue how it all works then maybe it would be best to not make any changes to your car with the software.

Well, I am far from an expert but I have been trying it out since we bought our car this year. Our Clio is a Clio Mk4 1149cc 16v Dyaminique mediaNav edition 2016 and here is a list of some features I have enabled and some things I have managed to disable /changed on the car since we have it:

* Clock & outdoor temperature showing in info panel above speedo digit. - originally on a lot of Mk4 Clio's , if the car is equipped with a large screen medianav radio in the dash they have omitted the clock and outdoor temperature in the info window above the speedo digit. But it is quite handy to have the clock and the temperature there and just to glance down to it when driving rather than look over to the media-nav.

* Rear Tail lights lit with DRL lights on - normally when the DRL Lights are on the rear tail lights are not lit.

* changed the speedo digit from Km/h to mph - now for UK Clio owners thats not a problem , because on UK Clio's you could change the speedo freely between miles per hour and kilometers per hour with a button press of the start button and trip computer button on the wiper stalk frequently back and forth from mph to km/h ... however on continenatal and european models where the speed came from the factory in km/h as standard the button trick does not work to change it to mph.

* Always Keyless entry: have it so that at all times the car opens up without having to get the keycard out of your pocket or bag. In the normal course of things the Clio mk4 will unlock the car when it detects the keycard in the area of the drivers door .... but until you manually use the door lock button on the keycard .. and then you have temporarily 'dasbled' keyless entry until next time you start the car engine which resets keyless entry again.

* no longer have to press clutch or brake to start the engine. Only just done this recently so jury is still out, and some people may think that not safe and that you could start up car when its in gear .. well you could, but ever since I have passed my test I have been taught to make sure gears are in neutral and handbrake on and thats the habit I am in to . Maybe if you have children in car and if you have your keycard in your pocket or inside the car it might not be good to programme the car to start up without the driver having to press the clutch or brake though!

* remotely Turn on headlights of car with the keycard bulb symbol: Normally when you press the light bulb symbol on the keycard (on clio models without LED headlights anyway) the only thing that button does is turn on your interior ceiling lamps, pretty pointless I found. so now I have programmed it to turn on the headlghts instead - much handier at night now if you are trying to find your car in a dark car park (or front door keys to the house) on a dark drive, once you press the button on the keycard the headlights should stay on for approximately 20-30seconds and then go out - (be careful setting this setting because your lighting ECU should be at SW14 or higher or you could break your lights)

* follow me home lights: Not all Clios come with this but when you pull up the drive and turn off the engine you can pull the headlamp beam stalk on the steering wheel and the headlamps will stay on for approx 30seconds for each pull of the headlight beam flasher stalk

*Disabled Hill Start Assist feature (HSA)

I think thats what I have changed successfully at the moment with DDT4ALL - if there are any other settings I can think of I will update this post. Also if anyone is brave/stupid enough LOL to give DDT4ALL a try out on their car and get stuck on something ask here and I see if I can help you get past it. But as I say its not a thing for a novice to attempt , if you are absolute technophobe or dont know anything about programming stuff or know how to put it right if something goes wrong you are most probably better off just leaving it alone because with this software and what it could change you might not get your car started again or have to have ECU 's re-programmed by renault and thats not cheap , I would hate for that to happen to you.

Can I just ask if someone else is using or has used DDT4ALL in the past on their Clio and have found another feature that they have enabled / disabled and I haven't listed it here can they share the info please?

Here are a couple of things i am specifically looking to do but have no joy yet so if you have successfully done it with DDT4all can you let me know please? :

* I cannot get the 'welcome & Goodbye' headlight feature working on my car. This is the setting where the headlights are supposed to turn on automatically when you unlock the car - I have set the settings in DDT4all from '0' to '1' in the welcome and goodbye setting in the lighting ECU (I have SW15) and even after that the welcome & Goodbye feature does not seem to work.

* I am looking to see if the engine idling revs when engine warm, can be adjusted with DDT4all and see if someone has done it sucessfully? - I can read the parameters with DDT4all and it says the engine is idling at around 650rpm with no lights , heater blower, wipers etc and its reporting the 'idle set point' at 650rpm, and I want to try bump that idle revs up a little if I can with DDT4all and cannot find the settings to do that, maybe DDT4all is not capable? - but if you have managed to find the settings for Idle Set Point in DDT4all can you let me know please?

Thanks for reading and as I say if there is any help I can offer and if I am around i will be happy to answer any questions that I can.

Good luck, and dont forget be extra careful if you are going to try it out yourself.

This definitely looks interesting! Might have a play with it to see if autofolding mirrors can be enabled

I havent personally found that setting yet - I have seen a setting for autoclose windows I think, and tried setting it on mine but it didnt work . I thought it may autoclose the windows with a long press on the lock button on the keycard or double press on the drivers door handle black button.

There was an old forum post where a guy swore that he had autofold mirrors set up straight from the factory on his 197 which is the only reason I have a feeling it may be an option for the MK3s. Out of curiosity, does this program allow you to change more parameters than the official Renault clip diagnostic tool?

well the mirrors would have to have a motor in them to fold them in wouldnt they, and i should think they dont add motors to all the door mirrors on all mk4's I shouldnt think.

I personally have not used the official Renaul clip diagnostics too so I dont really know the difference sorry

Yeah i've retrofitted folding mirrors. Bought a module that will autofold them too but would rather see if I can save £100 and configure it via this software rather than get an auto electrician to wire it up. Will post my findings in this thread

I've had a play with it to enable android auto working out how to enable rs monitor is next as people are charging £100s to do it when it would be better if the information was just public.

Ddt2000 used ELM327, i could not get it to work with win10, what o/s does this one need?

Hi there, I am using on an old 32bit windows 7 laptop fine..... try maybe using compatibility settings in windows 10 maybe see if that works ? try setting it to windows 7 service pack 1 in compatibility settings?

Na you don't, I've worked out how to access it, it's just the perimiters need set for each car meg rs/Clio etc for torque and power and boost so I need to work out what each one is
Actually, your kinda local ain't you?

You able to turn off airbags on a MK3 Meg in that case? The mob that does it was gonna come up but the group has went dead now

Used on my 200T to change lt/100km to km/l and to enable android auto, and rs monitor (since mine was one of the first it wasn't possible to get as an optional when bought). Everything worked fine.

Now in yohr list I see the frknt libht things and... That's nice.. I'll give ot a try

Hey.
Hope you can help. how do you enable Rear Tail lights lit with DRL lights on.

Hi, I dont know what version of emm edison lighting ECU you have but mine is EMM EDISON DDT2000 SW15_2 v1.0 (i wouldnt change anything under SW13 as I think some people say it breaks the lights and the ECU has to be re-programmed by renault)

here is the setting you need Nbx_rear_tail_with_DRL_CF - enable that with a '1'

ah right, well being age of 2019 you should have the EMM of SW13 or more so you should be OK. the only way you are truly going to find out though is to choose the magnifying glass in DDT4ALL and let it search all the ECU's in your particular car

How to check SW version? ((be careful setting this setting because your lighting ECU should be at SW14 or higher or you could break your lights) )

open up DDT4ALL and press the magnifying glass in DDT4ALL and let it search all the ECU's in your particular car - it will find the correct edison EMM and then you can look to see what SW version is in your particular car

the reports I have read so far (and a lot of the forums are either in russian or french or italian) is that you have to watch if you enable the 'FOLLOW ME HOME' feature for under SW14 , that it could disable all lighting and you have to get re-programmed at Renault.

But you know at the end of the day its a risk using this software (DDT4ALL) and as the producer of the software says its a very powerful programme. use with caution, dont use it if you dont know what you are doing or dont know what the settings do, write down parameters before you go changing something in the programme, dont change a setting what you are unsure about - use the programme at your own risk! - and be aware that if you do change something that you shouldnt have done with the programme you may need your ECU's re-programmed with software or changed at Renault and it wont be cheap!

Okay. I have ddt2000 sw8.5. So better leave light settings as it is.

yes you may well be just in case , better to be careful. I mean I have read that the follow me home was set and they had no lighting at all after that on SW14 and lower

Where can you get this software?
Which is the best OBD adapter to use?

Thanks

software download = https://www.drive2.ru/b/49809333698...oCTc9xEyN3zC0S6YZXF0ziZYr31upqEep-xbNmbE4cFeA
Choose "ALL CARS EXE" - translate website with google translate.

Adaptor = this is a tough one. i manage with a 6 pound china OBD2 wi-fi ELM327 adaptor I bought years ago just to clear MIL errors , but some people have bought some adaptors that dont work too well with DDT4ALL so its a bit of pot luck and experimenting i'm afraid.
