Clio RS200T - Track/Road

Hi everyone

Not made a progress thread in a while, but good to be back in a fun car again!

So we have my 2013 Silver Clio RS200T EDC Lux - Cup Chassis

She’s done 21,000miles with full Renault history, has a Cup Chassis as an option, and currently, couldn’t be more pleased with her!

Not looking to strip her down and make a full machine out of her, as she’s going to be my daily too. But a few additions will be coming shortly, with maybe the odd bigger change to keep me happy.

There will be the odd thing that’s easily interchangeable. As she will be tracked, as well as a daily, quite regularly [emoji4]

Plans so far -

Part De-Badge Boot - (In Process)

Black Diamonds - (Ordered and on their way)

Team Heko Wind Deflectors - Enquiring

Black Front Blade - (Quoted)

Black Roof - (Quoted)

Black Rear Diffuser - (Quoted)

2nd Cat & Centre Silencer Delete - (Enquiring)

Cooksport Lowering Springs - (Unsure?)
(Opinions on these over Cup Springs? Coilovers currently aren’t an option, but these will improve the stance, but how big is the ride sacrifice over the Cup Springs?)

4 Point Rear Strut Brace - (Enquiring)

Future Plans -

Two Fixed Bucket Seats on Rails

4 Point Harnesses - Installing them for Track Days - Seatbelts kept for daily use

Up-Rated Discs & Pads

Alloy FMIC

Cold Air Intake

CUSTOM REMAP!!!

Like I say, she’s for track and road use. But main use is the dog car & the fun car.

Hope you all like it!

Very nice. I haven't been out in one but everything I read suggests these are pretty damn sharp out the box. Is it going to beneficial to tamper with the chassis? I would certainly be prioritising a remap to free up some ponies though. Enjoy

Cheers boys...

Yeah I’m not sure about putting any springs on it. My eye is saying do it, as arch gap always annoys me. But if it’s a massive comfort compromise, in addition to tampering with Renaultsports expertise, then I don’t know if it’s worth it.

I take it you had an NA 200 before? How does it compare to that?

Well I had a 197 Cup previously, and it’s difficult to describe the comparison.

Still got that confidence turning in, and the speed flows nicely through some corners, but the power delivery is (obviously) completely different.

Paddles aren’t really my thing, but as a daily I’ve always preferred an auto. So, it suits me down to the ground, but I don’t bother with the paddles too much.

Woke up quite early off nights today, so had abit of free time to take some badges off.
Even had a FaceTime with the OH to see what she thought before removing the RS Badge. But they all went, front and rear.

I think it looks so much cleaner, and so please with the front end!! The RS is untextured underneath, and I think it looks better than the badge. Understated and subtle.

Just waiting on the black covers and will throw them on.

Oh no, I'll never spot it from the front now! Looks good though.

I was behind a black one today for a period. Looked aggressive.

Finally a MK4 project on here! You could fit the Trophy shocks and springs to bring it down a little (20mm front and 10mm rear - 40% stiffer spring). If the handling is anything like the Trophy's out of the box - I'd not touch it. Might be worth looking into a trophy quick rack for the list of mods :)

Haha when the black diamonds are on, and my plate, you will.

Yeah that’s what I love most about this car. It looks so fat at the back.

I’ve been looking at options for the ride.
If I was going to put trophy shocks on, I think I’d just put KW V3’s on it and go all out. Probably end up similar money from Renault.

I’ve been reading some progress threads on them, and it appears it’s worth giving the cooksports ago. They give the stance I’m after, and by the reviews, they make it a dream on track too!

But of an update, black diamonds have been posted out, so should be on early next week.

I’ve also ordered a set of standard plates, a set of short plates and also a 3/4 plate for the front.
All completely blank apart from my reg:
M19 TNR
Going to have a mess around when they arrive and see what combination looks best!

She is also booked into Longlife tomorrow for the middle Silencer Delete. Only £80 and don’t in a day.
Excited to hear the difference!

Got it back already, only took them an hour!

What a difference! Sounds brilliant, couldn’t be more pleased with it.
I’ll try and get a video up of it later on maybe.

Even worse fears were realised, getting picked up from longlife by my mate.
Was completely overshadowed by the sound of his V10+ .... he couldn’t let me have my day could he haha

You’d be surprised at how cheap they are, I think a full set of trophy shocks are around £300 from renault - going from my 172 which had cup shocks and cooksports, the dampers and springs are rock hard on the trophy (but far more compliant over pot holes,
Probably from the hydraulic bumps)

Hi Martin not many around our colour, would not worry to much about the mods, get some track time in then replace the tyres with Super sports :)

Hi Ian... that’s a lovely trophy!!!!! Love the optional Akra too!

Do you know what the silver is called by the way?

Track time won’t be long, going to throw some track tyres on for track time, but not sure what to go for.

Mercury grey I think, I would use the Dunlop’s on the car then replace with Michelin’s when required.

You got any experience with track wear on the supersports mate?

Similar price to AD08R’s, but if they can serve a dual purpose, makes sense to keep the hassle to a minimum.

So these all arrived today, still waiting on a rear plate and a 3/4 plate.
But I’m really liking the dual shorts, after a quick mock up onto the car!
Just waiting for that V5 haha

Only got one picture of the diamond, as it was dark. But really like them so far.
Just need that blade wrapping! It’s annoying me now haha.
Keep reading conflicting things about wether it’s bumper off or not. Need to have a proper look myself.

After some night shift eBay browsing, I decided to throw a cheeky low offer on some new wheels and tyres. Didn’t expect it to be accepted AT ALL, butttttt it was haha.

Go and pick these up next week!

17” Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2’s
4 x Federal 595 RS-R’s

Gave the mrs the logic of ‘I’ll have to buy new tyres at some point anyways won’t I?!’
Appears to have worked for now haha!

Not sure if they’ll be daily’s, see how they look, but perfect track day wheel. Always been a personal choice.

Is there any giveaway signs that it’s a cup chassis on these?
Used to be calipers but is it the same for the mk4?

What do you think to the mpg compared to your last Clio ?
I have an edc at the minute would be interested to see what other edc’s are getting fuel wise around town ?
Car looks lovely :)

As far as I’ve heard, the Cup’s and Trophy’s came with 18” wheels. But I couldn’t tell you anymore than that haha.
The callipers on these are very disappointing really, not functionality, just looks.
Especially when you see the 197/200’s Brembo 4pots!

It’s a long time since my 197, so I’d struggle to compare the two to be honest.
I get around 250miles to the tank at the moment. So roughly 30mpg. That’s including some VERY ‘happy’ driving, some round the town and my 36 mile motorway round trip commute to work.
Cheers mate! I love it so far :)

Well that’s about all I know too haha
Looking at getting rid of my megane when I change jobs (for a company car)
But then getting the Other half one of these to still have something for the weekends, which somehow I have managed to convince ha
Car looks great by the way

That’s fair enough mate :)

That’s pretty good mileage mate I get 200 miles to a tank but I do town driving to get to work so my fuel consumption isn’t the best lol

They are great fun especially with the different driving modes the only thing I would add to it is an eco mode when you want to be eco friendly. I don’t know about yours but mine is popping and banging all the time even in normal mode lol

That’s pretty much what we do, just the other way around... the OH is having a GLC in the coming weeks, and I’ve got the fun car this time haha.
I can’t see her complaining too much :)

Yeah I’d completely agree with that!
There’s times when you don’t want to hoon around, so it’d be great!
I don’t know where they get the idea you can get 40mpg out of it from? Even if I drive like a saint, realistically, you CANT get that high a mpg out of it. Whatever the trip says.

Yeah especially with the Silencer Delete, it crackles all the time!

Tempted by a secondary decat, I don’t know about you haha

Alright man.... yeah I did briefly speak to you on turborenault, but haven’t put a thread up on there!

100% NEED a project thread of yours though! Although there’s probably too much for you to remember haha
It's the opposite way, there's a detailed thread on TR! I have plenty of photos that date back to the day of purchase, I'll sift through and start a project thread on here.
