What way round does a Clutch plate go?

    as title really removed the old clutch but cant remember the way it came out does the thicker side of the clutch plate go towards the flywheel or the other way round?

    i would put thick side to flywheel though :smiley:

    certainly does matter!!!!

    the center part protrudes more on one side, this faces AWAY from the flywheels

    Doesn't it have a stamp or engravement saying something like 'flywheel this side'?

    Thats what i thought hence didnt pay much attention but it doesnt its a valeo clutch

    ever seen someone fit one the wrong way around?

    A guy at a garage i used to work at did it once.
    It was grinding on the flywheel bolts when he started it up.
