Today’s Mission... (pics)

today i decided to fit some new rear discs and pads to the back of my 172. For those who saw my thread a while back about the state the rear discs were in, it was a thing that needed sorting.

Considering the most ive done before is change a wheel, it was a large mission for me to do... but i got there in the end with no help (well, apart from a few words from Mike heh) :D

You may be wondering why i took pictures... well i actully took a lot more than that.

If anybody thinks it would be useful i will write a "how to" guide with lots of pictures of each stage?

Good work!

Youve inspired me to do my ol 1.2 (NO brakes at the moment).

PS New wheel nuts would clean things up a bit! ;)

(^^^ Great minds think alike)

Thanks to Mike172Sport for supplying the parts too :D

yep... y0z2a was much cheaper with Brembo discs, but i had no way of pressing in the seperate bearings... so ended up getting Renault ones from Mike.

Looks good mate, a How To guide would definitely be good for muppets like me, I wouldnt even know where to put the trolley jack...

Can it:p

Quite an easy job to do unless you get niggles, top job.

I got the pads from Renault without mikes discount... £43

Discs however, i got them for £130 instead of about £180 for the same thing.

should hav upgraded...but looks like a job well dun.

to what exactly?

Must admit i dont really see the point in upgrading the rears either when front does 80% of the braking anyway. Also overbraking the rear particularly on a car thats know for being light over the rear axle and swinging the ass out its only going to lead to tears. Good job Mr Fubar bet you were dirty sweaty and pissed off by the time you finished.
