So after 2 years of driving about in my boring runabout to afford buying my house, I finally had enough money to step into something fun again. As much as I loved my 182, I fancied trying something different. I considered a lot of cars and in the end decided on a Mini Cooper S. Initially I was looking at the later Turbo Charged (R56 model) until I'd read up on the engine coking issues. So I set out looking for a facelift R53 with the shorter gear ratios. This car wasn't for sale, but after seeing Daryl on here mention it might be going up soon I messaged him to enquire about it. Fast forward to Saturday, I jumped on the train from Leeds to Bristol and agreed to buy. I smiled the whole 4 hour drive home! The short ratio gearbox is so much fun. The car: 54 Plate Mini Cooper S. 67,000 Miles with FSH. Full leather interior, Xenons, Climate control, Body coloured roof & mirrors, lowered 30mm on Eibach Pro lines, aero skirts & grille. Absolutely love it! Here are some photos after I'd given it a very quick clean. At the moment it's plenty quick enough for me coming from my 1.4 Polo, so my plans are a set of plain number plates and a general clean & tidy up! Dan.
