Looking to get a couple of extra genuine cables and had a quick look online.

Apple are wanting around the £15.00 Mark and there is a few on ebay for around £9.00

The ones on ebay state that they are 100% Genuine Apple Products but some don't come with boxes or anything else.

Does anyone have any links or know of any genuine cables other than apple or am i best just to buy OE from apple ?

I bought 3x braided ones from eBay for something silly like £3 posted.

Absolutely fine, work for data transfer and power without any error messages. Paying £15 for one is ridiculous.

I wouldn't touch the eBay ones. I've bought two and they were both fakes. The seller refunded me straight away.

If you want to play it safe, look for ones on Amazon that are MFI Certified (made for iPhone), guaranteed to work

I have bought many from ebay. Bought a fair amount of cables and every one fake or not supported on the device yet my original iPhone 5 charger is still working fine on all my devices and its 2 years old now, i would love to get a cheaper cable but it must be a genuine apple product

Bought the following

Black & White Braied x 3

Without getting drawn into this thread, I've had braided ones for best part of a year now and they still work fine. I don't even know where my original one is anymore.

Maybe they are hit and miss, but at the end of the day it's just a cable. If you throw it around, pack it up kinking the wire then a wire could separate from the plug regardless of whether it was made in China or California... Oh wait.
