Key Stuck in ignition...

Anyone had this fault?

You can turn the ignition on and off, but not turn it far enough to start the car or back far enough to take the key out. (Nothing to do with the steering lock)

The AA bloke said its the Ignition Switch, and has done a temp fix by removing the barrel (long story, but works).

Renault want to sell me a whole new barrel, rather than just this bit that attaches to the back so the barrel.

Anyone had anything similar?

How much do the robbing b******s want for whole new barrel ? mine is at renault now immobiliers as fcuked up and cant start its at £283 and still cant find the fault !!!

not quite that much luckily! think it was £155 and would be made to the current key.
I only need the plastic switch bit, so looks like a trip to the breakers.
