Heat wrap over heat shield

So in the process of removing the heat shields to get the linkage out, a number of either the shields or the bolts snapped.

I am wondering, on a track car, if there is really much need for them, especially if you can use a heat wrap on the exhaust.
Has anyone tried this before?

To be clear, i would keep the ones by the fuel tank and behind the manifold where the bake lines are, but as the exhaust goes past the subframe and under the linkage is where i'd be looking.

annoying this is more like "find new ones and get those seized bolts out.

lame!

I removed the shields from my evo track car years ago and it would get very hot inside without them esp if you’ve also removed the sound deadening, carpet etc
