Booked in for may 13th for r26.r Clutch and ttv flywheel.

The flywheel I bought is no good to me now so up for sale it goes!

Will give the civic a run out for a Couple of weeks now til this is sorted 100%, not worth the risk

Little freshen up of the rear bumper today. Had it resprayed as there were two stress marks/cracks in the paint on the back bumper that were annoying me. Looks a lot cleaner.

Managed to get another ttv smf, this time the right fitment (R26r)! Clutch friction plate looks brand new too! Probs just put a new one in though to be safe but the flywheel should lighten the harsh bill at least.

Starting to get too used to this torque. Bloody hell it absolutely flies now. Still gonna have it Turned down a tiny tiny bit and have it checked again with the clutch done and make sure all is ok with the fuelling etc.
Anyway R26r Clutch, single mass flywheel and service saturday, will see about adjusting the gap on the plugs now its mapped.

Changed over the exhaust mount tonight, bought two but the passenger side looks pretty new so not needed yet. Driver's side was shagged though. Feels a lot better now.

Also had the rear bumper and spoiler given a finish off with wet sand and a machine polish at the bodyshop to remove any tiny imperfections in the clear coat. Great little bodyshop that one. Think I will leave it without the r26 decal on the rear too.

Early start this morning. Drive over to Mark's for the clutch and a few other bits.
Car drives a lot better now, no massively obvious improvement like I got with the sports cat, rear bushes and mapping. But definitely 100% sharper and a subtle but worthwhile mod for sure. And no slip! Have to keep the traction off though otherwise it just kicks in a lot.
While it was down there I got it serviced with an all important (why?) stamp. New plugs, oil, gearbox oil, oil filter and pollen filter (which was well needed!!)
While the subframe was out I had some powerflex arb bushes chucked in so now it's fully polybushed.

Great drive home. Car feels absolutely solid.

Decent this ttv flywheel. My dmf must have been knackered. Had a bit of vibration on idle before, wing mirror was like Michael J Fox, even after new mounts and poly inserts. Gearchange is much slicker too, probably due to the oil change. No hanging revs between gears, quicker revving, more pronounced and definite engagement (dmf was a more gradual bite as you'd expect, this is either on or off, no messing about) and just feels a lot more solid.

So er, yeah. The walbro 255lph pump doesn't fit in the R26 housing/sender unit (unless you want to piss about modifying it).
Quick clean out of the unit and put OEM back then - only wanted a walbro as it's an uprated unit so no point replacing like for like if it ain't broke!
Having the replacement hose that split (when I bought it) replaced though with some braided stuff as the replacement had started to crack with the heat (suppose it will do under a load of black plastic covers and having the catalyst underneath it!)

Cant help myself. Met another local megane lad on saturday who bought my oem wheels. His is also silver but a more hardcore track car and he has the black insert headlights. I cant resist anymore cos they do look better. So ordered myself set today second hand. Hopefully should be a straight swap.

Don't fancy aftermarket wheel nuts but the oem ones look tatty and rusty. Left em to soak in a load of vinegar then a once over with autosol. Tidier.

Jobs a goodun. Went back to efi today to (originally) get the map reduced to 'stage 1' from the 'stage 2' it was been mapped to, mainly cos I'm just over paranoid.
Since having the clutch and service though the car has felt a lot better so I spoke to Chris when I got there today and he assured me that it's no safer really to have it stock/stage whatever as long as it's mapped right and torque is capped at the assumed 300 lb/ft limit. There can never be guarantees obviously and mapped engines are under more stress than oem of course.
I guess it is just down to lazy mapping and the luck of having a good engine. To be honest I don't hear of any bent rods below 300 lb ft, just piston damage, more likely down to fuelling.
Obviously maintenance will have a bearing on this too.
So rather than get sucked into all the theories and guess work raging on forums and facebook pages, I'm just going to stop worrying about it and enjoy the bloody thing. What Chris says goes.
So got it on the rollers as I was booked in for an hour and he'd come in early to fit me in (Chris is mega). First run and we instantly saw the difference the r26r Clutch and smf made - an extra 11 ish lbft so it was at 312 lb ft around 3-3.5k rpm.
Didnt get the torque graph but the one below shows the difference at 3k

So glad I brought it down, plus it was an opportunity to make sure everything else is ok after the 630cc injector drama on someone elses thread (case closed)

New configuration map shown below. Torque capped at 300 and power dropped following the torque tweak to 272.5 from 276, maybe cos I'm using vpower now instead of tesco 99? Either way its negligible, figures aren't important, the shape of the graph is, afr is smooth and it drives perfectly

Hopefully all good at oulton tomorrow

Been meaning to do this for a while but someone had both the silver trim glove and an arm rest so though I'd get them off the same seller to save post and parcel hassle.
Glovebox is scrap tho, scratched to death so its either getting sent back or slung. Arm rest needed a bloody good clean and disinfecting but came out alright after some products on it.
Looks a lot better. Need to mount the R26 plaque somewhere now, obd cover or handbrake centre like it was?

Went for cloth over leather as they're cheaper, easier to get hold of, less slippy and match the door cards anwyay. Good, cheap little mod.

FS ad has been posted - I'd take offers close to the asking as I want Phil's DC5!

Otherwise I'll be updating the thread at the end of the month with some more pics of the Megane on a Welsh road trip :)

Don't think so. Think he's on the csoc pages. Is there some sort of beef between the two? Dunno.
He's a renault nut and has a nice low miles 172 cup. I wouldve done a deal but I've done the clio thing 4 times now so its dc5 hunting once I get the balance on friday.

Looked at a couple of dcs including the one off here. Also looking at modded FN2s as they're still a k20 but without the ridiculous price tag and fine for everyday.

Whatever comes up really and catches my eye.

When did you get a mini?

Haven't got it yet, hopefully picking it up within the next couple of week, just waiting for the private plate to come off.

There growing on me the FN2's, there's a red lowered one I see sometimes giving it large, looks/sounds well.

I'd like a silver one but not overly arsed on colour.
Lsd and map with gruppe m and would tick the daily boxes for me and the ep would still be more fun for track

Great car but I 100% prefer na and honda has the best na engine out there (in 4 cyl) for me.
