CUP Vibrations

I am having problems with my Cup at the moment, every time i drive over 60mph i am getting vibrations on the steering wheel.

The faster i go the worse it becomes, by the time i hit 90mph the feedback from the steering wheel is sh*t. This effects the handling in a big way. Renault traked the car and balanced it last week, but the vibrations were still there. I took it back to them, and they re tracked and balanced the car again. It still has not made any difference, why am i getting these vibrations, they have checked the suspension and steering rack but everything is o.k

What is causing the car to vibrate, it has been like this for ages.

Please help.

why dont you take it to a specialist tyre fitter and get them to check the balance.

I had the same problem when I had the tyres replaced, when I took it back, the fitter had forgotten to remove the old balance weights, god knows why this was a problem coz no matter how many weights you have on it, a balanced wheel is a balanced wheel!

Have you had new tyres on the car since new? The reason I ask is I read somewhere about one of the major tyre companies fitting directional tyres the wrong way....must of been the work experience lad?

Just a thought...

No i replaced all my tyres 2 months ago, i have had the car tracked and balanced around 3 times, its only when i hit 60mph and upwards the vibrations kick in. Even on smooth motorways the vibrations are terrible, and the feeling and feedback from the steering wheel is terrible. I cant go any faster, if i do it gets worse. You can visibly see the steering wheel shake all over the place. Its quite a handful to control.

I have changed my tyres 2 months ago, and even had the tracking and balancing done twice. Even on smooth motorways it vibrates so bad that its quite a handful. Basically the faster i go the worse it becomes, to the point of you can visibly see the steering wheel shake in my hands.

Its so aggrevating, no b*****d can ever get my car tracked or balanced properly, even those independant garages with all the laser equipment, no one hardly has the tracking setting for the clio cup, would any of you happen to have them please.

Even though youve had new tyres 2 months ago - you could find that one or more of them is faulty - with the tread breaking down - showing up as a deformity or bulge in the tread. This happened to me once - took bloody ages to find out what was causing the vibration!! Your tyre place will be able to check for that as well as balancing and tracking etc.
