I bought this last week and thought id make a small progress blog for me / everyone else to see! :)
Not a lot going on at the moment, just slowly cleaning everything thing up before going underneath and cleaning all the crap out from behind the wheels etc!

If i remember correctly im the 4th owner now, 90k miles .. renault service history to around 60k .. belts done a few years back so they need doing next year!
All pretty mint, pulls well! Had one issue with the exhaust with one bolt holding to manifold onto the cat but thats sorted thank god!
Lower engine mount's gonna be poly bushed in the next few weeks :D

cleaned it today finally .. she wasn't looking too happy dirty! .. still need to do the inside a bit better, belts need a good clean :(

enjoy .. hopefully :)

Right!
Spent the morning cleaning up the leather a bit, wasn't really as dirty as i thought it was but it's come up very nicely!
Taken the rear section out (almost) to clean up it up a bit, dont like the mess even if its hidden. The fronts will be out this weekend if i can figure out how too, quite a bit of dust/dirt stuck away by the rails
Still gotta take the sub wiring out as well .. fun.

Anyone got any tips on how to get the Renault Sport on the seats back to white? i tried a vanish iirc and its left a big white ring -.-

I imagine a steam cleaner would be ideal for it, should give the right amount of cleaning power and not being too aggressive with the alacantara.
But if you don't have one of them, go at it with a microfibre cloth and/or soft brush with some cleaner

Bit of a tight parking space - how did you get the door open?

Go at your belts with the steamer too!! Or do what everyone else does here - bucket of hot water with washing machine detergent and go at them with a stiff brush. That's how I did mine and after some elbow grease they came up bright silver like they should be!

I thought you meant cambelt then, that sentence got weirder and weirder until I realised haha

Right!

Should be selling my old car soon to fund the Clio, needing to get two new drive shafts as both and crunchy and loud on tight turns, new dogbone and then that's pretty much it for now!

I'm looking at a new exhaust to get in summer time, any recommendations apart from PMS ?

Not a lot has happend .. My missus bought me the DA polisher add on thing for a corded drill this week so that's been used and the car looks awesome .. the roof still needs work but that can wait!

I had a good old rebate come through from Mr. Tax man so that's being put straight to the car on new Sport Line springs and booking my track day .. cant wait!

Nice one mate! I'd be changing those inner ARB bushes they look fucked.

I'd recommend powerflex black just measure your dia of your ARB first unlike me who got the wrong size lol they make a fantastic difference

So Monday was my first track day at snetterton, it was awesome! loads of learning curves, lots of sketchy understeer moments and brake fade at 120 mph .. all in a good days work!
the only photo i have so far, the offical ones arent up yet! the plastic guard has been sorted so not to worry :)
120 miles there, 140 miles around the track and 120 miles back, 2 tanks of fuel, the odd missed gear and she still ran like a trooper all day, im so impressed!

Bucket seat and harness mounting ..

Im looking at getting a new seat just for the driver side for now, i can see how the seats go, but harness wise
I know i need to use spreader plates, where is the best place to mount the lap straps?!

Just a quick small update

Had the brakes finally bled at Renault and they did a health check, got a small power steering leak they think, ive no idea how to get that sorted. And my O/S/F Track rod end is dead and needs replacing, nothing major either! :D
