Lawless's Arctic 182

I picked up the 182 after looking around for a upgrade to my 1.2 after someone smashed into the side of it and drove off while i was at work, I recently started a new job so thought it was time to treat myself as before i couldn't justify the increased running costs but after taking it for a test drive i instantly fell in love and just had to buy it!

The only mods on the car being a Milltek Decat exhaust, which is loud and the neighbours dont appreciate it at all!

So here she is on the day i put the deposit down:

The climate was broke and the brakes weren't amazing, so the dealer sorted the climate and put new discs and pads on too, so i had to wait a few days before picking her up, which was abit annoying as I wanted for the PFC Expo and got a day later..

So after a few good drives in with the new power i had acquired.. which was a big increase from a 1.2 Expression and with the bad weather we've been having she was well over due a good clean, so me and Ben gave her a clean today (aswell as his new Fiesta)

After a good clean Ben got his camera out and we took some photos

So with the bank holiday weekend here i decided to repaint the engine cover and inlets

Firstly sanded down and primed the engine cover
16857914358_954ac0cb37_z.jpg

Then sprayed with some arctic blue to match the car

Then i removed and sprayed the inlets in aluminum

Replaced the inlets after they had dried and removed the fuel rail ready to spray

Placed the engine cover on to see how it will look

All that's left to do add a few more layers of lacquer on the engine cover and replace the fuel rail cover which i have sprayed, which hopefully will be done tomorrow!
I also have a battery cover on its way then a general degrease and tidy of the engine bay and i think it'll be looking good

Excuse the spam photos but finally found this thread lol. This be my first 182 that lasted a week in my ownership! Bought it for £1,800 on 77K. Mental car! Loved it and miss it sometimes

The guy i bought it off put on the miltec and decat straight from the company. Also the fast road clutch too. When I sold it, it had a bad earth connection somewhere that kept blowing fuses. To the rear number plate light I think. Then the guy who bought it off me text me saying the heaters packed in or won't turn off? You got all that fixed? You ever change the cambelt too? There's no proof of it. Just literally written in, the guy I bought it off said a rich guy who he bought it off had it done but again. There's no proof! Was on my first thing list to get done. Also that cars been mapped I'm sure of it! The "5K kick" is much lower down in the 2/3K range. The cars mental and just wants to hoon around everywhere! Can't drive it normally, it's on steroids lol. Love it

Any more progress?

Edit: have to agree the noise that thing makes is ridiculous. People may read it as "yeah bet it's just kinda loud" but compared to my custom made 182 replica exhaust and my actual 182s Yozza exhaust this one still beats it. Stupidly loud!

Good thing you got the brakes changes too as they were shocking in my ownership. nearly rear ended someone they were that bad, foot to floor and probably straight through the floor it had no grip whatsoever. Especially with its remapped power of lower range torque/pull. Dangerous times!

Well I took it for a full service this weekend, fitted a new clear number plate light cover, new side lights as the others were flickering and new wipers and looking to get the belt changed very soon, I've also had the wheels refurbed, new tyres, new 3/4 plates but dont post much on here!
MOT coming up in a couple of months and it's looking like it will need:
New front dampers (which I've had months but no time to fit)
Problem with the full beam on one side (no idea what?!)
New exhaust mounts because cable ties apparently don't count..
and a track rod end

When I bought the car the number plate unit didn't work so I replaced it and had no other problems with it, when I bought it the garage fixed the heater and fitted new brakes (getting rid of the grinding with the drilled and grooved discs) before I bought it so I had to wait a few days.. but do you know what the random fuse under the glovebox is for? seems aftermarket with being taped up and hanging but i've no idea!
I bought it from Derbyshire Specialist Cars just outside of Mansfield at the end of september for the total sum of £2300 with it on just under 79k

Also did it have the horrendous stone chips on the front/bonnet/wing mirrors? The local cats and my neighbour have all added to the damage too, but due to the neighbours roof tile falling on the bonnet I'm getting a front end respray courtesy of them

But overall its great to hoon around in with the extremely loud exhaust which my neighbours hate.. I dont think I could ever get rid it's just too much fun!

Not sure on the random fuse, can't even remember it.

It was in pretty good(ish) condition when I bought it. No horrendous stone chips or scratches though as that sort of thing bugs the hell out of me and I wanted/have another black car.. The interior needed a good deep/steam clean though. I never got around to do anything with it as monies wouldn't let me. It was buy first on impulse and love of the test drive then cry and realise I can't afford it later.

My plans if I was to keep it were gloss black front and rear diamonds, bullets and black turini's. Heko defelectors, skoda splitter, recessed front number plate. Brakes! and belts. That was the initial "need to do" list for me. But then it ate all my money.

Don't know why but I love the reg, it's the letters. Stand out to me for some weird reason. Will be getting a private plate soon ending in WXR in homage to this one (this car being the reason why i wanted another 182 and feel the need for more power so why not) plus I'm not imaginitive on the last 3 letters and the options I have other than WXR sound gay and don't look right compared to my currently secretive first set of letters& numbers (;

I'd be pissed about the cats though, surely theres some spray repellant on the market for them?

Have to organise some more East Midlands meets soon. I know there's a lot of us around here, be interesting that's for sure!

It was pretty clean inside when I bought it apart from the seat belts, the only downside to the interior is that it rattles like hell when going over 50mph!

You can kind of see the stone chips here, so the owner between us must have been offroading or something!

They don't show up on many photos but the front end is quite bad now, the headlights are in need of restoring too, and there is a few little marks here and there but you have to search really
