Morning people
Ok need some help here, had the 197 some weeks now and it's been fine, the other night when going out I stopped at traffic lights and noticed it was hunting quite badly on idle, set off again and it drove fine, parked up, had my night out but on the return journey the car went...
only just got my silver car back running after some issues, it is French after all, my red car got stolen so that didn't help either! I will have a retry with my 1260 and report back
i have both clones and neither talk to the Clio, alientech scrambles the checksums so is pointless, not tried a powergate but again these will be expensive, we want something anyone can afford otherwise it's pointless
Anyway.....think we are all getting ahead of ourselves and messy along the way, firstly we really need to find something that reads the whole ecu, something that can also write, is cheap to buy etc otherwise theres really no point as, as someones already mentioned you might as well go stand...

i posted on geekmapped to your question but as far as then numb nuts are concerned id rather not get involved with Andy Fox and the rest of the cronies again
There needs to be a knew thread started and a list of whats needed/targets ect
XDF or XLM are easy enough to prepare once you have the basic map properties, getting them is time consuming however, yes originally I was building my own boards to slot inside the ecu's but ostrich made this so much easier! plus Mark Mansur is a great guy to get on with, proper techy though
Sorted, it was the UCH (feckin things) however in the process of elimination there is a by pass option which is fairly simple! alas I also think that if one CAP goes in the the UCH for one problem it will also go for another very soon so probably best just to bite the bullet and send it to...
The ecu mapping bit is easy as that's been my job/pastime for many years
The problem is getting to read/write to the ecu hopefully through the OBD port although I do have a BDM to write direct
I also did some work on the ca18det and 20det, the eprom chips are fairly easy to do, and you can turn them into fully on the fly mappable cheaply!
Ostrich is your friend for those!
Theres a little project going on here http://www.ecuconnections.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=1051I plan on remapping my own ecu if I can get more interested parties?
For those of you that don't know me, I reworked the early evo ecu to be mappable and wrote the codes for launch control, anti...
Hey all!
Ok ive just bought a 172 after parting with my 182 some weeks ago and realising what a mistake I made! however on the return home I realised the indicators aren't working, soooo had a look around and the fuse had been pulled, replaced the fuse but still nothing, another look around...
