storm, its a completely different animal. i have my "love my new car" head on so its difficult to be objective. the 182 was superb at driver involvement, sheer speed, acceleration and cornering ability, but for the daily commute i found it a pain in the arse. the bm is rattle free, really and...
just idle thinking really, waiting for a reply from amd with regards to price and gains. superchip quote 30 ponies for 500 quid. i guess if i lose fuel economy it defeats the object of the exercise.
tbh looks like the availability of cheap imports/renault themselves pushing them out the door cheap, has forced used prices down. the only saving grace is the waiting time and peoples impatience to have one.
mine was a UK car aswell....
yup, 320d it is, 150bhp model. so far so good with it. after all of 2 days :) although still getting used to the different driving style of a diesel.
you got any more info on chipping etc.... i know VAG TDis are common but dont know anything about bmw chipping.
i got £10.5k against the beemer, when i was looking it varied between as low as 9k and highest was 11k against a golf tdi.

due to piling the miles on the clio i had to change. completely different drive in everyway. so no comparison really.
just wanted to say thanks to you all for having the answers to the queries i had and giving me a...

tops tool for working out performance gains, seems to be pretty accurate but wouldnt mind seeing how everyone else fairs
^^^^now youve gone and started me thinking about winter:@. motorbike gets put away........clio becomes a hedgebound missile..........sigh, hope its a mild one
reet, the car was with the dealer for approx 2 hours and they changed the rotary switch. as this problem seems to be fixed by a different process each time i wonder how many fixs for this we can clock up between us if its a design fault on the clio ;)
anyway whatever they did seems to have...
mines in for this tomorrow the parts turned up. "rotary switch" exactly the same symptoms, if the car had been in the sun for a while it was worse than ever :(
only taken a fortnight for the part so not to bad. (oh this is a warranty fix btw)
yes, definitely! i have a good thousand miles left on mine i think but with all the hoopla about cup tyres then if youve found em count me in.
cheers james.
ive just renewed online aswell, all i have to do now is hope the bugger turns up before the 1st. why do i always leave everything till the last minute sigh :(
congrats fella, (for the record i got a 10p mix up for 9p once RESULT!).
enjoy the new motor but not the constant cleaning that comes from a black car :D
i think with it being factory fit then a dealer wont do it. If they would then your looking at over a grand, four new wheels is going to cost for a start.......
^^^ not that i want to piss on your bonfire but..............
buyers will still be faced with the same choice you were, lets leave the cup bit out for the moment.
you have a UK 182 that cost a couple of grand more than the equivalent import. there are others but for most buyers warranty is...
