I have Contisport 3's in 195/45/16 on my 172, only cost £320 fitted through Blackcircles. Personally I'm willing to pay extra for premium tyres, I've tried toyo/kuhmo/falken and would definitely recommend continental/goodyear/michelin over any of them.
Fixed my remote key fob by putting a piece of folded up cardboard inside it! Now when I press the button it's actually making contact with the pcb and so actually works!
Xenons are cloudy - have tried to polish them with a 3m kit and no improvment. Previous owner obviously took the whole unit apart and re-sealed it with silicon, they're seemingly beyond repair.
Central locking stopped working recently - I can't lock my boot!
Front bumper is covered in...
My classic Impreza with a blitz nur spec r catback system was stupidly loud, I still had the standard cat fitted I dread to think how loud it would have been with a full decat.
They are pretty cheap to run especially if you're able to work on the car yourself. At 27 I'm paying just £280 fully comp with direct line (7 years ncb + a good postcode do help), tax isn't "cheap" but £270 a year isn't much when you consider that fuel/maintenance will cost significantly more...

Had my 172 for nearly 4 months now and according to fuel log I'm averaging 29mpg. 80% of my driving is short distance urban journeys and the rest mainly involve me going for a 'spirited' drive so I think my mpg is pretty reasonable.
T1-Rs are OK in the dry but awful in the wet and terrible at the limit of grip (no progression to losing grip the car just 'snaps' away). Also on my old Impreza the fronts were finished in less than 2k miles (sidewalls made of cheese). I've also used kuhmos and now learnt my lesson, spend a...
Don't bother with cheap brands like toyo, either buy some decent premium road tyres like contisport 3 or go for some track biased tyres like the ad08. I had a set of contisport 3 tyres fitted for £326 via blackcircles.com
