Why? I did mine in an hour this morning. Bit of a fiddle, but all you need to remove is the upper inlet and some wiggling to get it out

    Jumpy cruise control

I'm not sure I'm that bothered about cruise control tbh. Only fitted it because I had the parts available. Didn't want to have to map my car again!

    Jumpy cruise control

Would my old reprogram license not work on a different rstuner? Wouldn't be the end of the world to pick one up to change the map, I shouldn't lose money on it

    Jumpy cruise control

It does feel like an unclean throttle body, but it drives beautifully otherwise, so seems unlikely. I have a spare pedal that I could try out That is roughly my thoughts. Although I would have expected the cruise to cut out straight away if there was a short or dodgy wiring, not jump a bit and...

    Jumpy cruise control

I've recently fitted cruise control to my 172. It works, but is very jumpy. It does not cruise smoothly at all, and occasionally cuts out. The same goes for the speed limiter If you change the dash display away from the set screen, it keeps coming back and the speed flashes occasionally Any...

    Removing cam pulleys

How would I go about removing camshaft pulleys, with no cambelt fitted and no pulley locking tools? Any secret methods? The engine is on a stand, so access is good. Buzz gun wouldn't have them off, probably due to a weak compressor Cheers

fitting removing gearbox on a 172 how hard/easy expensive?

I've just taken a box out of a 182, and I'm in no rush to do it again. Maybe I didn't gone best route, but it was a definite struggle. I've done a box swap in 1.5 hours drive in drive out on an old zetec-s, took more like 5 hours to drop the box on the Clio (mainly because I didn't know what I...

    Clutch kit change at home

I had the same trouble, you can't just undo the top nut. Take the mount off from the gearbox, there is 3 awkward bolts to undo. The bolt through the rubber mount has spanner flats on it inside the rubber, I ended up burning the rubber away in order to remove the centre bolt
