The car was covered by warranty and its recommended to change both at the same time ......and they was BOTH changed

Result. The belts were actually changed in 2008 at 36000 miles. Does NOT need to be replaced until 7200 miles :approve:. Get in! It says so in my service history booklet. check, check & check again.

I appreciate all points of view. The car drives like new. Really smooth gear changes and it really pulls. In my honest opinion I would not be suprised if the belts have been changed back in 2008 but i will make sure because if they have.....like you good people say, it will go in my favour.

There is no invoice as it was covered by the warranty. 3 years free servicing.

The car was last mot'd november last year. The car was actually serviced at 36,281 miles 14/11/08 (Cam Belt change every 36000 miles) And it was still covered by warranty.They may have changed the cam belt but not recorded it on the service sheets. Is there any way a mechanic could tell if it...

Its got full service history. I have revised the price and dropped to £3700 still accepting best offers. In addition, I was assured on my last mot that the cam belt is in good nick. Thanks for the advice.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Thats all I can say really. £3000 is way too low. And as for the colour...... its stunning especially in the sunlight. The metallic paint makes it sparkle.
