Lol at being "honest".
Half the people that usually comment on the 197/200 have never driven one. They listen to and then regurgitate comments made by others.
I had a 172 cup before the 197, they are both great cars but the 197 clinches it for me. Just a nicer place to be!
very little "performance" difference. 197 is more refined in general but 6th gear is too short for comfortable cruising at motorway speeds imo.
handling wise, Id say the 197 is better/easier but Im no driving god.
CS doesnt like 197's though so bear this in mind.
Yep, slow and steady is the key.
mine came up almost like new... defo no marks etc.
make sure you maintain contact with the light until the drill stops and put it in contact before spinning it up.
Yeh I was surprised to be honest.
I find the "mid range" mpg to be comparable to the 172. The biggest limitation is that on a run it tops out at 35 (38 driving like a fossil). In the 172 cup I could easily reach 45 driving normally.
when pressed the 197 dips down to 14-15ish whereas I...
I had a 172 cup before I bought the r27.
197 doesnt feel any faster but it does feel more special. Build quality is better and it feels tighter/more planted.
Ive not had the 197 around a track yet but I suspect it'll be faster and/or easier to drive faster. The chassis inspires a lot of...

Mansfield Wheel Alignment have always done mine.
They are a bit old school but they have a Hunter system and do a great job. c.£45 for 4 wheel alignment
Knocking could be drop links? Is there any play in the steering? Does the steering knock going from lock to lock.
The flexi links on the cat' are a known weak point. There is a chance that this could have failed?
This is long shot but getting the centre silencer cut out is also a popular...
The r27 has cup packs and Recaros. Xenons and climate were an option.
You can get cups packs on 2007 onwards on "normal" 197's.
Test drive a few and make your own mind up whether 197's are less fun than 182's....A lot of people will try and convince this is the case.....
