I've been using that oil for 5 years or more now on my 182 track car and its been perfect. I even had the sump off recently and it was as clean as a whistle so the oil is definitely doing something right.
I've never had a drive shaft cause me any wheel vibration before... whenever they have been going wrong I've always just had them start to make horrible noises, but no vibration.
ha ha, to be honest, I was writing my reply thinking I didn't mean to offend him, my message must have come accross in totally the wrong way... and then I had a second thought about whether I had read yours in the wrong way lol...... we will now promise to use smileys all the time...
alright dude, chill out, I'm not trying to be a smart arse ... that message might be read differently to how I meant it.... I'm just saying a knocking noise from tyres would be a new one on me. The wondering around the road, maybe, but can't see it being the tyres with the knocking noise too...
It's a bit weird at the minute.... I bled the brakes fully and it has gone away.
I'm not confident that its not coming back yet but I can't make it show its ugly head again yet.
Cheers mate. I'll find it one way or another just would be nice to get a heads up to point me in the right direction.
My other theory is that my car is just eager and revs itself as soon as you take your foot off the break to help you launch it off down the road lol.... It wants to be like one...
Bit of a random one.... my 182 has developed a bit of a high idling problem. It will start off at about 2k and work its way up to almost 3k as it gets warmer. The second I put my foot on the brake it returns to a perfect idle?
I am thinking something to do with a vacuum hose?
Anyway I wondered...
Yeah triangular plates can be removed without any problems and I think I took it out on the drivers side.... Seriously though mate, get it out is the easy bit, getting it fitted back with the bushes is a challenge to say the least.
Nice one, thanks buddy, I'll check them out and get one ordered.
But yeah the OMP one I have was advertised specifically for a 182. I've had it fitted for over a year and have always thought it was showing up warning lights just because I'd mucked around with the SAS. Only when I looked into it...
bloody hell! This is a real problem with aftermarket wheels on 182s isnt it....
Surely someone has got an aftermarket boss with the lugs on? Or does everyone not bother with the steering angle sensor?
I need to get a new steering wheel boss as I've managed to buy an OMP one that doesn't have the little lumps/lugs on the back that go into the steering angle sensor on my 182. The problem is making sure I now get one that does have them is proofing harder than I expected.
Everyone just has...
I'm going to get some shims to get some camber on the rear of my clio. I want to get some metal ones and I know pure Motorsport do some but with delivery they are just shy of £35. There are some on eBay for £26 with delivery that look pretty much exactly the same and I just wondered whether...
Thanks for the link, it was an interesting read.
So it seems that the chances are the discs aren't warped but at how cheap HCs now are it seems them outcome is the same, just buy new discs.
Again sorry for slowly replying to this thread, I have been away.... So it sounds like there is a chance that there is just some deposits on the discs. Would a good clean of the discs with some brake cleaner get rid of this? Surely if a days hard braking can't get rid of it then nothing will? Or...
Sorry I haven't really been replying, had a weekend away..... I'm pretty hard on the brakes and there are two people that use the car. I think tyre flat spots and things aren't to blame as I would feel that at speed with the unbalanced wheel. If it's fairly common with people warping them then...
I have ds2500s. And yeah I have brake cooling ducts from the fog lights (albeit home made ones) and we always do cooling down laps..... I think I may have done a cooling down lap opal the end of the last day and then put it straight on the trailer so I wonder whether that has done something...
On my last track day my Clio has developed a decent amount of brake vibration since the last track day. It was fine a few weeks before at the previous day. My only thought is that I've parked it up on the trailer with the brakes too hot and leaving it stationary with pads and discs that hot has...
I haven't really had much luck with it yet.
I had a fairly quick go at it a few weeks ago and it probably made it a little better but it didn't make a revolutionary difference like I had in my head that it would. I plan on giving it a better attempt but I would imagine I will end up doing some...
very true, but I just think it's just one more going you can do to clear some of those mines.... As I say just my opinion, and obviously there is a lot of people on here who don't mind it
I'm one of the people that would never buy one, but the response shows that there are obviously people that would at the right price and as has been said you are never really going to loose money at that price.
I just think that you can never really know how well its been repaired and I'd...
