Try Quaife. The ATB diff is amazing, especially on over powered front wheel drive cars, pulls the front end around beautifuly. I would definately get one if i was to modify the Williams, i have one on my 205 and it is brilliant. I managed to get one for £350 new, but they are around £500 new.

Whats the easiest way to change the gearbox on a Williams?? And how long will it take? Option1 - Remove bonnet, inlet and pipework, engine mount, driveshafts and then take the gearbox out of the top. Option2- Remove lower subframe, driveshafts and drop the gearbox out of the bottom. Thanks.

His reserve is set at £1600. I emailed him and he replied " I will break the car if the bids do not reach the reserve". I know its difficult to tell, but what do you think is a realistic price for the car, with respect to breaking??

I am a relatively new member, but this sounds like a very good idea, saving money and making more parts available. I would be interested in buying a spare gearbox and tailgate. Out of interest there was a LHD Williams on ebay recently that went for less than a RHD equivalent.

Would it be a straightforward swap or do ya reckon it will need shoe horning to get it in. And surely i would have to get the valver dampers and sh*t too and possibly the power steering rack?.

It will only happen if the outside diameter of the 16 inch wheels, including tyres is bigger than the standard wheels with tyres.

The best pads around are the mintex 1144 pads. Better stopping power than the greenstuff and also last longer BUT they are more expensive. If you change the discs you need to change the pads. If you only change the pads there is no need to change the discs. Hope that makes some sense.

A response. I contacted Prima racing and they said this ; "A standard Clio williams gearbox re-build is around £450.00 + VAT. This is supplied with a 12 month - 12,000 mile warranty" So no doubt a Williams gearbox will be even more!!!!
