Nah man, billy basic Renaultsport one. The car had an engine change, and the rack was disconnected, then this appeared. I would have assumed the sensor was totally broken BUT the fact it's giving a uniform reading makes me think it is functioning as it should. Although how it ended up that way...

Just had the same issue, turned out there was no sensor in the roof where there shoud have been. Take the courtousy light surround out and unplug/re-plug the sensor maybe?

Aren't they part of the pedal on these or is that something else?

Don't know the engines too well myself - did this person mention if they were hydraulic or manual tappets? Check your oil level first - if it's hydraulic and you're running with sod all in the car it'll sound awful.... Other than that, ping a few emails off to garages for a quote on getting...
