You're very impatient! :p
I started to write up all that I had learned but never got around to finishing it. I did come across my test setup a week or so ago and think I should try finish it up but I don't have a clio anymore so motivation is pretty low...
Number 1 will be four in January, the second is six weeks old! The clio is an absolute ballache for trying to get the car seat in, nevermind then getting the child into it so i never bother. The skoda is for family duty and it does it will but its taken a good few months for it to grow on me. Is...
Yeah same cabby. I think i've done about 1.5k in it since getting it and half of those were from the FCS trip. I do intend to get another tin top (my last one disappeared into APD) at some stage but at the minute the 172 is perfect. We only bought it as a temporary runaround for the wife after...
I was optimistic that it was a fuse somewhere with it dying completely. You would think it would be one of the ones marked UCH though...
I still have a 19, a 94 cabrio 16v that has done about 50 miles in 4 years - paying for an education has put cars down the priority list :/
My 2002 172 has died and it seems to be the UCH.
Symptoms:
Won't turn over, serv light flashing
No lights except brake and rear fog.
No wipers, only squirters
No interior lights
Plip not working
The rs tuner can't connect and a bluetooth obd dongle isn't getting any power via the port
Seems...
Regarding the tuner list display, i hope to have mine finished in about 4 weeks assuming all goes to plan.
If anyone is seriously interested if getting their hands on one I could probably do couple of one offs for somewhere north of £100 ready to go.
If you got a display from a tuner list car and a chunk of the wiring loom you could wire it in. The displays physically fit the same but the wiring connectors are completely different
The update list display is different from the tuner list so nothing mentioned in this thread will work with it. I'm trying to get my hands on an update list radio/display but so far haven't found one (for free...)
I'm still working on this. It has been dismissed as a project due to me having most of it done and not enough scope for 'research'
My current plan is to get it finished to the same spec as I posted above (ie with bluetooth and fully plug and play) because that's what I want.
As I'm making...
200 I pulled from thin air. Based on your previous estimates of hardware costs x3 as a sale price you're now talking closer to 150. Our differences are now your 50 against my 66.
Those aren't the connectors you need, it's the yellow mini ones, both male and female.
I don't think there would be an issue, once you're using bolts long enough you're still transferring the force where it needs to be same as a single 10mm spacer
Yeah, the costs of £20 are nonsensical. As i said earlier i'm aiming for a finished product. Depending on what cases I might find these may need some sort of machining. As i've said at least twice the ISO connectors are huge money in any sort of quantity. Clearly we're not all talking about the...
I'm only reading one at a time but if you're timing a 0-60 or something 10/sec would be nice.
I only know its wired as I was "experimenting" and took out all my dash clocks when I interrupted the bus.
I don't think it's public, certainly not intentionally anyway.
With my cheapo 327 i can get up to 5 pid/sec. I'm looking at getting 8 but that all needs more testing.
The CAN is wired to the port on my 172 but it seems like a very basic implementation, its separate from the tuner list display. The update lists use CAN but again i think this is isolated...
The later clios had an update list radio (its written on the front of it) which is incompatible with the dispaly/stalk from the earlier tuner list radios.
Is that £50 for just PCB and components? I can see no way of meeting a cost like that for a finished product. BTW my £200 wasn't a cost to make, it was a selling price based on the usual rule of 3's and then bumped down.
That thing is $25?
Yep, bluetooth for torque as its awesome. When it became my intention to take it as my masters project it all needed to be over engineered (no getting away with it) and as i said, this is something I'm making for myself firstly so costs wasn't really a consideration. Comms is sorted, having it...
A genuine ELM327 is closer to 20 but I'm not using that anyway as they're quite slow. I'm building this the way I want it, not down to a price. Retaining and replacing the existing radio comms costs more than the OBD <-> display hardware. Ensuring the power supply works in an automotive...
