I see more and more turbo conversions using aftermarket ecu's.
I'm running Megasquirt on my 9 atm so i do know how standalone works but i wonder how a standalone ecu get's wired in on a 172 or the likes.
I presume they can only be used alongside the original ecu because of clocks, comms with...
Since Clio's are just much cheaper in the UK i've been considering exporting one and converting it to lhd.
unfortunately since the Clio's are so f**king expensive here there aren't alot parts either.
i was wondering what would be involved, things i could think of:
lhd steering rack, move brake...
Being an area rep. on RTOC i decided to set up a convoy from West-London, here's what it will look like:
3:30PM - Meet up at Reading services M4 westbound (RG30 3UQ).
4:30PM - Leave the site in a convoy heading to Chippenham. (SN14 6UZ)
5:30PM - Arrive at Morrisons (supermarket, gas station...
Having bought a set of new wheels for my Dci it's time for tyres too.
The marks/types i'm particularly curious about are:

Pirelli p zero nero
Yokohama s.drive
I have had toyo t1-r's in the past and while they stick like mad in the dry they suck in wet and wear...
I know the dci isn't the most popular but as it's a pretty economic daily which could use some more power i thought i'll start this thread to gather info on tuning these little dervs.
so far the main problem seems to be the fuel pump that isn't able to flow more fuel then something along the...

have to sort out some clutch issues, fab a 3" exhaust and check/fix the brakes but other than that it's driveable and currently running the engine in on 8psi, which icw the quaife diff goes like...
i know the title may be a bit misleading but i'm sure this will draw some attention :p
i'm wondering if anyone ever pulled a 250/265 engine apart or does know more about the internals of these engines?
i'm very interested in what Renault upgraded or just re-used from the 225 engine.

i splitted a box and want to fit a bolt in plate in stead off the circlip, however i layed the plate onto the diff and it isn't flush.
does anyone have pics off the jc5-130 diff?

It was a non running 1.4, the heater matrix started leaking and the previous owner thought he would make it to the garage without coolant :P
No problem for me as this gave me the opportunity to buy it cheap...
right, i'm looking for a wideband a/f ratio meter and i'm wondering what brands/types you guys have experience with?
i'm thinking Innovative, Aem, Tech edge etc.

Does anyone know wther the clio 2 different engine types have different brake servo's?
My Dci has a leaking servo so has to be changed.
Just wondering if i could mount a 1.2 one for instance.
And is the Sport servo bigger?
Want to mount it on my gtt as it has full Sport brake setup.
does anyone know what the thickness and bolt distance on the different non sport clio's are?
i'm wondering if a coilover set from an 1.2 will fit an 1.6?
