Considering anything really, as long as it doesn't break the bank and Sam is able to drive it..lol
Mainly looking at FWD , have Mini r53 GP( gp a possibility), meg r26, S2000, there was a Mk7 fiesta on ebay recently which got my interest up, these sort of thangs really. Race or just Track day...
Looks like we decided to both throw in the towel at the same time!
Kudos too us both for dog eared determination in trying to get both our projects up and running against the massive odds stacked against us for sure.
Though my replacement track car won't be as impressive as yours!!
I'm not up to date on the goings on on your Trophy project - I'll have a quick k read now.
Endemic in the motor sport word it seems!
Yes, it's been a long last few years to say the least. All behind me now.
I have already bought a 6mth old trailer, happened to look on ebay and one was for...
I'm taking the picture and it say's it all, literally deflated by the whole situation brought on by false hope and promises that lead to one disappointment after another. A can do attitude just doesn't cut it - it you can't deliver whether that be on a time scale or ability then say no, don't...
Unfortunately 3 specialists failed to deliver whilst I did everything a customer could, paid on time and didn't change spec\anything mid build etc.
Any way I'm working at the moment - someone has deleted a load more files than they should've (GDPR) so I'm restoring them, 12 hrs later and still...
All good things come to an end - Roadkill is now subscription based with the Motor trend channel (and app (bonus!)). Pity but had to eventually happen.
Just caught up with the comments above - watched RK for a fair few years myself (not going to subscribe though!) so you're not alone @DaveDreads
Here we have my Golf GTTDI Mk 4 now on 300k, I careful owner ....me!
Found the original order from March 2001
Still returns 55-60 mpg, there's a saying in the golf Mk4 owners club "look after your Mk4" Cared for it well and it's just as good as the day it left the dealer, had 3...
I'll be putting up a for sale thread for #17 in a couple days, would rather sell whole - car + all spares (spare engine -8 wheels tyres ect) I have. I'll also include the trailer too - for the right price.
But will break if no takers.
There, done it now.
The End.
Some good news.....finally, but not concerning #17;

FVS UPD - Victim Surcharge

An update - on more than one subject;
6th June; court hearing has happened - and for some unbelievable reason I won't know the out come for up to two weeks!! Called the police collisions unit who said I must wait for up to 2 weeks for a letter from them and the court doesn't issue court results...
No, 6 June is when he either pleads guilty or not guilty. If he pleads not guilty then we all go to court to fight it out. He pleads guilty then it's all done bar adding points to his licence plus fine and of course my damages etc.
Thanks for taking the time out to read - it's been an emotional 5 years for sure!
All details are in this project thread - not wanting to go over \ drag it up again, all's been said and done now.
again.......not a chance!!!
Might have some news next week...............
No, Found out from engine builder #1 that he put on 3-4 degrees advance timing on the inlet cam - which explains the poor running to a certain extent as now the timing has been set to std.
ED are going to check the compression, timing and go from there - glad I really didn't just book a mapping...
@NorthloopCup something along the lines of;
"appears the static timing has not been set correctly as looking at the Ignition table the advance is extremely low (see pic), actually less than you would see in a turbo setup! We should be seeing numbers in the early to late twenty’s as rough...
Feeling a bit annoyed\frustrated right now;
Just had to write a "I'm sorry" email to Andy at Engine Dynamics as he has had a look at the map on #17 and as I read his email to me could imagine the "like what the actual xxx" when he was looking at the map put on by the original engine builder #1...
I would say pop down, but I'll be there at 7am! Andy forgot it was Easter when he booked me in, so did I and he's opening just for me so I'd get down early doors.
Thought about that but the ignition would have to be on ages - but when I fired it up today the gauge hardly moved so didn't have to bother draining in the end. 30 ltrs of super on the way down to ED should be job done.
Just run up #17 and checking aux belt, as just changed it, noticed the alternator was very hot to the touch.
Is this normal bear in mind i'do only run the Clio for 2-4 minutes.
Never felt one before after engine running so nothing to compare it too.
Getting #17 ready for its trip down to Engine Dynamics on the 15th.
Also got to get all the old fuel out, whats the best way of doing that? I don't have a power probe to get\keep the fuel pump running hmmmmmm, 18mth+ old fuel in the tank. Don't fancy mapping on that!
Scarlett removing the power...
@c4pob yes it's the same for me - waiting for the Police to finish up their investigations and to decide to prosecute or not, then and only then will the report be released to all parties. This is what will decide if we go to court or he will in fact cave as hopefully his later story about on me...
Not much to report - unfortunately - mapping is booked in with Engine Dynamics, dropping off on the 15th April and picking up a week or so later - knowing past history I definitely didn't want to book a slot to turn up and something unexpected go wrong - as it does!!
But, I have bought a new V...
Well, since picking up #17 I've done the basic sum of sweet f all to getting it track ready - life has just thrown curve ball after curve ball our way;
My accident and now prolonged shoulder break recovery - collar bone still broken with a 5mm gap between the break - being made to wait another...
Lol, think @20vKarlos you deserve a medal for reading all, thanks for taking the time to do so!! Garage is still in the pipeline, though it's a long pipe!
Finally it's back, picked up #17 on the 21st Jan got to get it mapped, as expected, no drama just have to choose the right place.
Now the spanners will come out for a complete check over as there's rust etc even on my AST top mount nuts - after 18 -24 mths of waiting and getting messed around...
Been driving for the last week and have arranged to pick up #17 on Sat 21st jan.
This enforced time off work has changed a few things, doubt I'll go racing again until the mortgage is paid off (2 years should see it gone), as really need to be in position to be able to work or not from 2022...
