I was adjusting my fronts and noticed the adjuster was spinning freely, turns out the grubscrew wasn't grubbed enough.
in my infinite wisdom, I decided to check the other grubscrews as well, a lot were not quite tight.
while doing all this , something went POINGGGGGGG, and I didn't see where it...
Yes another one.....😭
My car seems determined not to pass its Dutch mot.
The heater/climate panel died.
It still lights up, but none of the controls work.
I've had the panel apart, and gone over it with a magnifying glass, no sign of burning or corrosion.
Fuses are fine, plugs are corrosion...
N/mm mate.
I'll probably go the other way, and just get a longer main to go with the original helper...
Still wondering why Pure went with such short springs....
Probably because they couldn't get as low as they wanted?
Apparently for the Dutch MOT 'loose springs' is a fail.
Guess what happens when you lift my 182 on B16's......
Car is dropped 40mm as per RCCK.
Am I right in thinking longer helper springs is the hands off solution?
All longer helpers will do is loose me some 'drop' I'm not using anyway right...
Finally going to mount my PMS exhaust manifold.
Fully expecting nuts and studs to fight me and go pearshaped.
So, OEM Renault replacement, or is there something better out there (ARP?)
Any tips or tricks from experts who have done this before?
Does anybody have the Bilstein parts number?
My adjusterknob was loose and in removing it I lost ball/spring 'clicker'
Easy enough fix, but need the parts obviously 🤷🏾♂️
Thanks all!
It really isn't that hard once you get your head around it.
Even changed the dephaser!
Used OEM Renault tools and double-checked everything.
It's just the lack of room that gives you a headache.
Changing my own belt for the first time.
Apart from a 182 being an absolute pig to work on, and the Renault manual being in a weird order and extremely nebulous it's going alright.
Couldn't get the cambelt on, was blaming the keyed pulley, but cycling home angry I think I've solved it.
I kinda...
Change the rack?
My wifes Alfa 156 had a quicker rack than the 182, really liked the feel of it., so when Pure started selling theirs (made in Italy), I jumped at the chance!
Alternate answer:
Change the pump?
Mine is starting to make noise, pump is drag on the engine, read others on here done...
