I wouldn't bother with the white. THe paint on the bumpers and plastics looks less white than on the metal. Looks cheap. That was what I was after 'til I saw one up close.
Then I went Ultra Red.
As for suggesting a Vauxhall. A diesel Vauxhall. Are you out of your mind? Every Vauxhall...
Hi there. I won the springs on ebay and have requested a total cost including packaging but haven't heard a dickie bird since. Could you let me know ASAP please mate?
Funny again. My mate went from tooling around in a S1 Rallye to an E30 M3. That got written off in the summer floods so he's just bought a 16v GTI engined XSI. You probably know the one in fact off the rallye register. Been stripped to under 800kgs.
Welcome dude. Funy though, a mate of mine has been tooling around in his sisters 172 Cup and thinks the chassis is a bit "meh" compared to the 106. So much so he's gone back to owning a 106.:D
You said it "revs out." After explaining that you mean it still feels like it has more power to come but the limiter cuts in. Ergo the level at which the rev limit is set is entirely relevant. You could do two things to improve it y'see:
1: Up the rev limit;
2: Fit different ratios to give...
Most just chuck 'em through the auctions or shift them on to bigger dealers. 05 plate is borderline in terms of used sell on by a dealer. Little money in the used market so they tend to punt anything over a couple of years on to the auctions.
How does a car "rev out" whilst still in the power band. This statement makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Congratulations on Ben H for making the most coherent, obvious and sensible statement probably in the past 5 years on CS. Everything he said is bang on the money.
Mine is pretty damn std, low mileage and very early. Needs tidying up but hoping that by spring next year it'll be fit enough to sell on. Won't make any money on it but will have had the satisfaction of owning an original.
That and I've got another one to use as a track sl4g:evil: .
That's an incorrect quote though. Only 3600-ish die on the roads every year from any sort of accident. I doubt 83% are as a result of drink driving.
HTH.
Totally agree, but to be fair enthusiasts won't make the majority of their sales. I mentioned a Cup version and this guy declared he wasn't interested in such things. Selling the full fat versions at full whack, on the back of the previous model, allows them to sell you and I the better...
Whilst in many ways I agree with that you have to bear in mind this is Renault. Releasing the best variant straight off won't make as much cash as gradually making them better.
Their tactics at the mo are perfect. I was in Renault Manchester a couple of weeks back buying a new towing eye and...
Did I say you were jealous, kids?
No.
The point some, including myself, have tried to make to you guys is that exactly the same criticisms could be levelled at the ph1 172, the first of the hot mk2s, by the mk1 owners.
Do you really think Renault are marketing it as something better than the...
My thoughts -
Back end just dont look right - on the phase 1 172s it also looked cack
Rear tailpipes - neither in your face or stealth, not even subtle........look pointless tbh - no sign of tailpipes on mk2s until the 182 I think, and no tailpipes is totally ghey
Renault Sport badges, not...
So it suffers the same problems the mk2 did over the mk1. No surprise really. The heady old days are gone.
With respect to the seats, they really are that feckin' good, and I can't see that speccing Recaros would be worth it. The std jobbies are really top notch. As is the chunky wheel and...
