Im not sure of its using more fuel. Today i took a drive, and i can see that the mpg is only related to the speed, the faster the less fuel used, does not matter if im in 3rd or 5th gear, and that makes me think that the throttle position sensor or flywheel sensor is making this problem.. ?

My box died on my 172 ph1 this sunday. Done 170.000km Front wheels blocked up and it spilled all the gearoil. Problems before it died, for 6months it has had a little whining sound when driving.

Just had this problem this morning.. car crancked as it should but would not start.. after a couple of minutes it came to life.. But had the same problem last year, where I changed the battery, but it seems periodic.. I will try and look into my TDC

I've gotten the new mount from Ktech, the big one.. And i moved the engine forward, but still got THE noice.. Then i found out it was the rear exhaust mount that went on the "holder" of the exhaust.. so today i pushed the engine towards the cabin, and it worked.. no more ARGH sound for me..

Hello lads. On my 172 ph1, the speeder seems to get stuck around 2k now and then.. And the throttle seems a bit dodgy around 1-2K rpm. Renault said I would need new throttlebody.. is it a common problem, and can i fix it somehow without buying a new ? Regards |sAs|

mine is ph1 2000' model and it has the straght mount.. Think its from phase2 that it starts with the twisted.

Im also in the 172 group that have this problem. I have the ph1 172, and changed the dogbone mount to the upgraded version from K-tech (non twisted one) And it went from knocking at high reves in 1st gear to growling (the constant noise) in 1st+2nd gear under hard acceleration. Going to try...

Maybe they are the proffesionals.. But at Renault a couple of Enginers have been sitting doing tests, and they know a tad more then the local garage guy.. And you do see them snapping before time.. I Would get mine done instantly.. But then again, love my car to much to let something like that...
