Hi Folks
My girlfriend's gearbox on her 2010 1.2 clio has just packed up ( as confirmed by my local reputable Renault dealer)... the car has only done 28,000 miles. I have been quoted £2800 to fit a replacement gearbox.
Do you think I have a good case to go back to Renault Customer care?
If...
I have recently ventured into Jap land and bought an Ignis SPort, but I am missing my clio 172.
One of the reasons for me moving away was that I have a bad left knee from running, and the heavy clutch of car made it worse as I am constantly in stop-start traffic when travelling to London...
Well, I have done it. I bought an Ignis Sport whilst I am considering repairing the clio 172. It's ok, but performs less well in all most areas apart from maybe the seats and yellow mesh in the headrests!
thanks for that, I appreciate it. All the wheels have been scratched up, and the interior has been well used. The bodywork is actually not too bad apart from the boot lid area.
How much for mine?
Clio 172, 02 plate, flame red.
165,000 miles.
Bad Points
ABS not working (may need new CV joint)
EM light on
Slight crunch from 2 to 3 rd gear when changing at lower speed when cold (is better when warm and is strangely not noticeable at all when changing at high revs)...
Yes, it is quite hard to decide what to do. I keep saying to myself that the next major repair means I'll get something else. I think I'll go for an Ignis Sport next.
At the mo? Missing on no. 2 and 3 cylinder (in a garage today for coilpack, etc- crossed fingers). ABS broken. Bit crunchy 2- 3 gear change. In the last year its had 2 injectors, new CV joint, plugs, leads, etc.. I just kind of expect it to keep breaking things as its got to a certain mileage.
thanks folks... up to £200 this week just to try and get it running again but it hasn't worked yet. I wish had more time.... and money of course! I get emotionally attached to all my cars, unfortunately.
I would try a different battery or try another jump start making sure that the cables are making contact on the terminals of both batteries. Pretty sure it's just a flat battery issue.
