If you can get the R1R for £50 each, can you get me a set in 195/50/15? Ive run the R1R's on a track fiesta and think they are awesome tyres, lap times hardly changed in the wet from the dry. Prob the best all round tyre ive ever used, on any car ive owned, and my daily driver is an evo 9 gt...
Ok, will do cheers. Brakes work but just not totally evenly. I'll report back with my findings. Looking at selling the car and just want it right for whoever buys it. Thanks again. WOrst case, i'll stick new calipers and pads on the front. Discs are pretty new.
pads were filed down as I was advised to do this when I got the pads. Just no-one mentioned removal of shims. Wonder if too much filed off with shims removed, or not enough with shims in place?
so the metal shim plates have to be removed? I have some brake imbalance up front and wonder if it's because no-one told me about removing the plates. I thought it was a caliper issue. Brakes do seem to bind a little bit too.
It looks pants. Stretched tyres are dangerous and i'm surprised a tyre fitter agreed to fit them. Any decent tyre place won't do it. If you have an accident, your insurance will be void. and to go putting massive spacers on just to clear the callipers? wtf?
So, I fitted a K-Tec Super Sport exhaust a couple of weeks ago, with de-cat pipe and straight through centre section. Unfortunately, I must be getting old, as it's unbearably noisy on the motorway. So, had to order the centre section which arrived today. From tomorrow afternoon, there will be...
Did uou buy a cpuple of quid tin of wd40 and spray all around the rubbers on front anti roll bar etc? Oh well, you can give advice till you're blue in the face. Good luck solving your prolem then. :S
Rear Exh mounts prob shot! Have a look at the rubber inserts, they'll most likely be perished and broken. If you're considering a K-tec super sport exh, my advice is to get the centre silencer. I just fitted the same exh, no silencer, no cat, and it's too loud really for day to day use and...
Which is ridiculous as it means they pay people to do the job the machinery cant do, which basically means it costs twice as much? Ridiculous! Time the police were able to spend more time fightig real crime and the courts handing out realistic sentences!
If an ANPR camera van cant read your number plate, then how the hell can you receive a notice saying it couldnt read your licence plate?? Am i missing something? Lol
Heat it up. Release oil, big bar! Mine done thurs! Pain in the backside of a job, but why heat the cat up if you want to remove the pre cat lambda? Heat the boss up where the lamba is. Oh, and you really need to have the car up on a ramp.
So i had a new lambda sensor fitted yesterday after my car broke down. All sorted and car is running best it ever has. The exhaust was also fitted wednesday, ktec non centre silencer version, with decat, and the super sport version, and man it's loud. Too loud really for normal road use. Wish...
My car now sorted! Diagnosed as faulty pre cat lambda. New one fitted, car goes much better. Just hope the fuel economy improves. We'll see what it's like in the morning when fully cold compared to the previous mornings.
Check you still have an auxy belt, but i'd do a voltage check on the battery. If the alternator fails, the battery supplies the power for the car, and once this drops below a certain level, you'll get all sorts of faults come up, and the car will stop pretty quickly.
It could be the rubber bushes on the front lower suspension, wishbone, rollbar, To find out, give them a bit of a spray with wd40 and try again to see if its noisy.
Well, my car just died on me today. Car was up to temperature. Just dropped power until it was undriveable. Coasted to a stop outside a diagnostic centre of all places! Lol. I've left it with them to sort out. Sick of it!
Explain further. If you turn key what exactly happens? Does it try to start? Do you have a multimeter? Check your battery voltage. I reckon it could be duff battery or alternator gone, not charging your battery.
Did you ever find cause of this? I have exact same symptoms since changing exhaust today. Did a check with the stalk button and it comes with letter j. Injector problem? My eml is also on now and wasnt before today.
Fitted a new ktec exhaust this afternoon, car is undriveable until its normal temp, as if something changes at normal temp and fuelling corrects itself. I have no idea about clio throttle systems yet, but think it's def related to overfuelling. Time to look at the throttle body i think.
I'm lookingninto this exact problem which a few people seem to be having. Is it worse when cold, as if the throttle isnt doing anything, and a stronger smell of fuel if you sit at idle with the door open? I'm now thinking it has something to with too much fuel, as if there is a choke left on or...
A word of warning, not sure if I just had bad luck or not, but I bought a coil pack off ebay, and it was crap! You know the saying, " buy cheap, buy twice" !
Anyway, off to have my k-tec super sport exhaust fitted today, hopefully, and some new tyres to test out, and maybe acoustic valve to...
And i hate t1r's but lots of people think they're great. I run R1R's on my track fiesta and they are very very impressive. Wet and dry! If you can afford the r1r's i'd fit them everytime.
Camskills have the michelin for about £112 i think. I'm going to try an experiment tomorrow with some tyres recommended to me. I'm very fussy about what i use on my cars, but because my car isnt going to be used much over next 12 months, i'm gonna stick some budget tyres on it. I've got a set of...
Any weird dash lights, lift your bonnet and see if the alternator is giving off a burning plastic smell. It's the insulation breaking down. Car will run for a while, but one day it will just stop suddenly as the alt packs in, usually just as you turn the lights on or something. They aint cheap...
