Howdy, Yesterday I fitted some some yellow Powerflex bushes into my Ph1 172 bottom gearbox mount. The old ones were probably the factory ones and were totally stuffed. Was getting nasty manifold banging on takeoff and especially up hills. Anyway, its a lot better now. The gear change and the...

Best place to get a Ph1 172 "dogbone" bush?

Howdy, I need to replace the bottom engine/gearbox mount bush on my 01 Clio 172 as I have the usual crashing and bashing at the exhaust into the subframe. The bush is pretty knackered. I hear Powerflex ones are the business. Im in New Zealand and if I go to renault they will only sell me the...

    Sunflower 172 on holiday

Cheers for the kind words fellas. Next for the car is new belts and waterpump, eibach springs and to get the wheels powder coated as they are a bit chipped. Start a new job in a couple of weeks so funding the damn project won't be so hard! Every now and then I lust for a big luxobarge BMW or...

    sooooo...my backbox fell off lol

my one fell off for the 2nd time yesterday. Have now put a flexi join near the manifold because the exhaust was too rigid and with the engine movement it was snapping the welds. Ran around for the day with a 2'5inch straight pipe with a small resonator. Waaaay to loud.

    Sunflower 172 on holiday

Howdy, Took the missus away for a week to a beach house. Was great but ended up taking more shots of the car than the view or her! Got fantastic fuel consumption on the way up as its about a 2 hour drag. Coming back was a bit more spirited! Anyway here are some shots.

    Ph1 172 Disc Size issues

Howdy all, I am having trouble ensuring that my local supplier orders the right Brembo front discs for my 2001 Ph1 172. He says he can order either 259mm or 238mm. Now I have been told that the 259mm ones are for ABS cars like mine and the 238mm ones are for non ABS cars. However I see all over...

Thoughts on this 182 for sale

Yep we have plenty of race tracks. Pukekohe is the most famous. Ran the Tasman series in the 60's and recently the Aussie v8 supercars. Then there is Hampton downs which has just been built, ruapuna, levels, teratonga and taupo. Not a bad number of tracks for a country of 4 million ; p

Cheers for the words of wisdom guys. The car is defo a 2004 nz new car sold new here. I see what u mean by the gap in the bonnet! Thoughts on this 182 for sale

Ah ok so its a 172 not a 182. Cheers! Silly question but how can you tell? I have phase 1 172 so these phase 2's are new to me. Yea the filter and exhaust stick out like a sore thumb but that can all be removed and replaced no problem. Just gotta look at the books asap

    Rear wheel bearings

Howdy, After a few trackdays it seems my rear wheel bearings are getting a bit noisy. Wheel colour on Sunflower Ph1 172

Howdy, I have a fairly stock yellow Ph1 172 and a while back I painted the factory silver wheels satin black. They look fairly slick however there are a few chips forming and I really need to look at repainting them. I am thinking of trying a different colour this time. Something different...

I run them on our 1970 Alfa GTV racecar and our Honda S2000. Will shortly be putting a set on my 172. Really good value and offer great grip and feel in my opinion.
