This morning I couldn't start the car, it was turning over but didn't seem to have a spark.. had a few spare parts kicking about so change the coil pack which did nothing.. I then went to change plugs and leads, upon removing the spark plug out of cylinder 4 there was an alarming amount of oil...
My 172 cup has been sat doing nothing in the garage for the past 9 months. Trying to get it back on the road now but when its running it has on the battery and stop light. Iv put a new battery in the car but this is still happening, is it likely to be the alternator that's bringing up these...

havent posted any pictures up for a fair while now, so i thought seeing as this was the clio's first wash in about 2 months it would be rude not to post a couple of quick snapps, not the best of photos but i try :o

hello all
So, from the start... I bought my 172 cup back in 2009. its a 53 reg and at the time had only 27k on the clock with full service history, this made it an attractive buy and I couldnt help myself. Deposit was left as soon as i saw it. The car already had a full milltek cat back on...
Today i gave the outside of my cup a bit of tlc as it hadn't been done for quite a long time... as the sun was out i though i'd take a few quick photos. Its also in need of a headlight correction but im waiting to borrow a polisher off a friend, so they still look pretty rough...
This is the second year in a row I've headed down here with some friends and it was just as good second time round. Took us about 4 and a half hours to get there but its a good weeked, so worth the journey. I took loads of photos over the weekend so just thought id put a few up on here.
When...
Gave the car a qiuck clean at the weekend. then hand polished with meg's deep crystal polish, this brought it up quite well, it really needs machined but that will come in time :)
Then as it was a nice sunny day, met up with geddes and went in search of a decent location for some...
after most these parts had been sat in the house for a while i decided to get myself motivated and get them all sorted on friday while the sun was out.
I started first by removing some stickers i was sick of then giving the car a quick wash...
Before
After
After quick wash (hadn't...
as the title says this will be my first time using a machine, but it needs done as my paint is full of nasty swirls. i am looking for some advice on what polish/pads to go for. nothing too expensive though please lol.
on my way into work a couple of weeks back this happened...
very unhappy... as i was after some decent tyres soon i decided to just bit the bullet and order some 15" pro race 1.2s as well :) so the 3 decent turinis will be up for sale this month. I'll post some more pics with the new wheels...
both cars were washed using 2 buckets, dryed off, polished with autoglym srp and then waxed. photos are only on my rubbish phone... sorry.
hope you like... :approve:
Im looking to sort some cams out towards the end of the year. Every1 on here seems to use catcams 428s, has any1 treid using piper cams? and if so are they any good?
iv had a decat on my 172 cup now for about 7000 miles and never once had a warning light, however tonight an engine icon has just lit up at random in the bottom right of the dash. is this normal or could it have lit up due to another problem?
car still sound fine and runs as normal... :S
Been a member for a while now but never posted any pics, thought it was about time i did. sorry about the quality they were only taken on my phone... :o
Thanks for looking.
as above.. car is a 172 cup. have thought of the usual like cams or itb's, but was wondering if any1 has tried using the engine out of 197/200? would that be worth while trying? or would it just be a waste of time and money? :S
car is a 172 cup. starts and runs as normal saying oil ok. problem comes when engine speed hits some where around 2500 rpm and at random throughs up the above 2 warning lights... when turned off then back on the problem goes away, but only til the engine hits 2500 rpm again. could it just be...
To avoid emissions light coming on, iv heard of people just plugging the second lambda sensor hole on these and hanging the sensor its self up in the engine bay :S. does this work well? and if so, would it not be a better idea to just buy a ph1 decat...
