Gutted yet so much want for this car.

I love Integrale's, such an epic looking car :) I remember my dad owning a couple over the years and always feeling "cool" when I was passenger, even when I'd grown up lol

    Motorbike insurance help.

Just found this place http://www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk/laid-up-motorbike-insurance/ I'm sure there are other companies that would do a 6month policy too, for exactly what you need. Not sure how cheap it would be, but worth trying ;) Liking the CCM too :)

    Play in steering column UJ?

You need to undo the pinch bolt at the very bottom that connects the column to the rack. It's a fiddly bugger but jack the front up and remove the wheel to aid access. Turn the steering so that the bolt head is facing outwards to make it easier, you'll see what I mean when you do it. It's...

steering rack for 172 cup track toy

Have a look into the variable EPAS conversion, using all Renault parts apart from the variable controller device thingy :) Theres some threads on it!

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Ahhh ok, fair enough! Does sound goosed then ;)

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Does the column definitely have play? I only ask as if you rock it quickly backwards and forwards in only small amounts it does feel slightly odd because of the motor and its resistance (which obviously you dont get on a normal PAS system) but when driving it still moves the rack/wheels...

    Noisy dephaser pully

Rattley!! More so when its upto temp! Mine is pretty quiet when its first started in the morning.

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Must be the relay then as you say, so long as the wiring is all ok which no doubt you've checked umpteen times by now lol! The main +'ve and -'ve are wired the correct way round to the original wires aren't they? I'm not sure if this matters or not though....

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Ok, one less potential issue, thought I'd better point it out incase it was that simple :) Its sounding like the ECU yes. When you switch the ign on, does the control know then get power to it? I guess there is a relay inside the ECU, which is the click that should be heard? Must be a duff. Is...

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Mine doesn't. Just tried it.... Ign OFF, knob fully anticlockwise Ign ON, no EPAS clicks after any amount of time Turn knob clockwise a little EPAS ECU loud click ;)
  17. Chri5

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Silly question but have you actually rotated the control knob clockwise a bit? i.e. to turn it on? I think that if its in the fully off position, it won't click the ECU on!

Dephaser pulley has died (guess) needs transporting to garage, best option?

Sounds just like mine tbh, its been rattling for months but now is getting very lumpy at idle, it used to do it now and again but is gradually getting worse and more frequent. I was going to to it but decided to sell the car/break it.....I'm not 100% now :o

When you say its died do you mean its completely broken or just rattling??

    Best 15" Wheels/Tyres for Track?

Why dont you want some 2nd hand wheels? Plenty of good ones out there, and the money you save there can go on decent tyres and brakes :)

    ANOTHER suspension question

No problem mate, all that should make it feel and ride much better :) I like those Yorkie cookies that the Co-op sell for the record:approve:

What size wheels does my car have?

Depends if 16's fit over the brakes I guess, I imagine they're quite hefty on the FR? 17" tyres are generally cheaper than 16"'s though.
  23. Chri5

    Best 15" Wheels/Tyres for Track?

On the other hand, using slicks can be potentially very dangerous unless the car is caged, due to the immense grip levels and lateral forces involved. Especially if the OP is relatively new to track days (I'm assuming here). At least with road legal track tyres, they tend to let go a bit more...

    ANOTHER suspension question

Just updated the post above regarding the bushes. Can't see any standard ones that are 22mm (assuming you have a non-cup packed 182) but there is Powerflex ones...

    ANOTHER suspension question

Regarding the Sportlines, there's a guy selling a set in the for sale threads for £80, only done 3k. Which is half what you're looking at ;) 172/182's have different wishbones which means the outer ARB bush is different to the ones you linked to! EDIT: You want ones that look like this...
