where in Kingsbury you live? I passed a black 172 the other morning going up trinity road, was that you? I know theres a silver 172 down sorrel drive somewhere but i dont recall seeing another black 172 around much!

I did read somewhere on here you can get them much cheaper they're just O rings so you just need to make sure you get the same size, i'm guessing somewhere like halfords will do them, maybe in a bag of allsorted sizes etc, should be pretty easy to get hold of

Part number for the injector from eurocar parts is 431 74 5200. This injector is made by magneti marelli

oh yeah, that makes sense. I bought mine from Eurocar parts and i believe it was OEM ( forgot the make but it begins with an M ) its around £42 IIRC

I believe theres a different code for each injector. a PO303 code will reflect a problem with the 3rd cyclinder as this is what caused my misfire. The diagnostics should give you a code reading if its telling you that you have an injector fault

I've already changed the coilpack, spark plugs HT leads and the injector for cylinder 3 which was the fault the diagnostics found. I wouldnt have thought the blowing exhaust would cause the lambda sensor to misbehave, of course it could just be broken by itself.... I'm going for Cat back without...

Car is now sorted and i have a smile back on my face. The misfire was caused by the HT leads. Going to treat the car to a new stainless steel cat back exhaust now...

Still waiting on leads being delivered, should find out later today :)

Glad you got it sorted mate, i'm having new HT leads fitted tomorrow, compression tests were fine thankfully so fingers crossed i'll have my car back tomorrow

I've had it on a code reader threw up P0303 i think it was which points to an open injector cylinder 3 circuit or something like that ( cant remember off the top of my head ) but that can still be caused by a few different things, Spark plugs probably needed a change as i've never had them done...

yeah that would be great, i would definately be interested to know what they say, the spark plugs i removed looked fine, im not sure how many miles they had done but they were OEM NGK. Very frustrating fault to track down. I hope they find your fault and dont charge you the value of your car for it!

I've now replaced the coilpack but that hasn't cured the misfire. What else can i check and what test are there to check them? ( i dont want to keep buying parts that arent solving the problem ) HT leads would be next on my agenda to replace.

I'll get a vid or two up once i have bought mine and have it fitted (Supersprint stealth) as there's not many videos about which i think definately helps someone to make up their mind as exhausts are bought on the basis of quality and sound. ( And perhaps price if you're a tight a*se! )
