Electrolysis is the better route as its actually reverses corrosion and can convert metal thats partially corroded back to a better state rather than eating away at what could be good metal.
Thats normal for clios.

In a way that sounds like a positive scenario, as mentioned - if the doesn't turn up you win. Or their reluctance to communicate is a sign he wasn't properly insured, bike wasn't tested, or he wasn't driving in accordance with his license etc which in court would mean the MIB would step in to...
You don't really use the tuner long term, its temporarily plugged in and it remaps the standard ECU. As mentioned, pops and bang map is pointless and will damage the car long term, but the basic remap will cause no issues.
Notches can be milled/ground off. The bearings are designed for the K series engines which have gaps in the crank to suit the tabs. However when I did this on mine I dont think I did it right as engine failed after 30 mins of running. So buy genuine which dont have the tabs...

Civil court will also go 50:50 as burden of proof is much different to criminal court. I'm very surprised your insurers are willing to take it to court, may well be a ploy to try and tip to 40:60 or 30:70, but chances are if 3rd party dig heels in yours will cave and go with 5050 just to put it...
Battery can stay. The metal cap comes off top of ecu holder (can be very stiff). That will expose ecu connector block.
No idea what colour codes mean, thats just what ive seen online and copied it in. But numbers are shown on the ecu connector.
Doesnt look like its right for the car. Is it for a mk1 clio?
Either way it should be sitting on the floor not the seat base. Its normal to need to fab up some feet/boxing to make the gap up, but looks wrong as the rear legs should also be on the rear arches.
