How many bolts are there to remove for the inlet manifold? what steps do i need to take?
Also what you have said is spot on, when i changed the sparks last week the spark plug hole closest to the drivers side had bad corrosion on the plug itself and brown dust in the hole, on the plug and also...
Car: 2006 Clio 1.4 MK3
Car has had a slight misfire for a long while now but have not really looked into it, symptoms have been a slightly jumpy idle, louder than usual engine, and random misfire fault code that keeps popping up.
Have changed all sparks and all ignition coils and also cleaned...
Ill try force a thicket bolt in tomorrow and of that fails ill look into getting one of them helicoil kits! If it comes to that I should be able to helicoil the thread without taking the whole thing off?
If your a helicoil expert I wouldn't mind paying you to sort it for me tbh! lol
2006 Clio MK3 1.4
It has pencil type ignition coils and one of the threads that secures the coil using a bolt is stuffed, its destroyed the thread of the original bolt and it now just turns and turns and will not tighten. Have tried a bolt with the same thread an it just keeps turning and will...
Usual suspects for misfire are sparks, ht leads, coils and injectors.
I'm in the process of sorting out a slight misfire on my mk3 clio 1.4 and so far I have changed everything apart from injectors which arrived today lol
Hi all,
Trying to fix an idle misfire issue on my 2006 Clio 1.4 MK3 (its only minor but annoying!) and i have also got powerloss/lag on acceleration and a Random Misfire fault code keeps popping up (but no EML at any point). I have so far changed all 4 sparks and 4 ignition coils and cleaned...
Sounds like the butterfly valve inside the throttle body is sticking. What did you use to clean it?
Try give the car a thrash on the bypass/motorway and see if that helps (stick to speed limits of course ;))
Could this be the case if it only happens when the engine is cold? does not happen when the engine is warm?
I was thinking it could be one of the pulleys or something, the noise seems to speed up as i press the accelerator?
I know im bumping an old thread but was this issue ever resolved?
Im having the EXACT same issue with my 06 (MK3) Clio 1.4.
In cold weather engine cuts out when approaching junctions and sticking my foot on the clutch, when warmed up its fine.
Idle revs seem to be bouncing every so slightly...
the turbos are relatively small on these engines, if he slaps on a big inter cooler he's more likely to get turbo lag, a smaller yet more efficient inter cooler would reduce turbo lag and do a better job.
only thing I would recommend doing is getting a straight through pipe made up from turbo...
Can't u hear the 'swooshing' noise? It sounds like its coming from near the belt area but I'm not sure?
Can't you hear what I'm talking about? I can hear it clearly in the vid?
My bad! Not used to these modern tech engines :P
Well the car seems to feel flat under acceleration, not as responsive as before, and there's a slight misfire on idle.
I have changed all sparks and ignition coils and removed and thoroughly cleaned the throttle body but the issue still remains...
Hi all,
Been experiencing a weird noise on my 06 Clio MK3 1.4.
Its been happening for a long time now and only seems to happen when the engine has been started from cold, once warm it goes away.

Let me know what you think!
Hi all,
Some idiot decided to smash off the passenger side wing mirror off my 2006 Clio Expression 1.4 MK3 today.
I'm looking to get a replacement mirror, preferably not from Renault as it will cost a bomb (would still like to know the price if any of you guys know?).
What type of mirror do i...
Hi all,
Looking to give my MAF a clean.
The picture i have attached is not my airbox (as mines on the car atm) but its the same.
How the hell do I remove the airflow sensor to give it a clean?
I have disconnected the tube going to it and tried to pull the sensor and also give it a twist but...
Took the throttle body off and gave it a good clean with Carb cleaner and a toothbrush as it as pretty mucky! Replaced the air filter with a new one also, the previous one was not that bad to be honest as it was changed around 6 months ago.
Idle seems to be slightly better but the slight...
Hi all,
Not sure if this is the correct section so feel free to move or delete this if I have made a mistake!
If there's anyone looking to earn a few bob I'm needing someone to fit some parts for me to my 06 Clio 1.4 MK3.
I have the parts ready to be fitted and are as follows:
2x Lower ball...
I had the dreaded problem on my old MK2 DCI 80 where lights come on when belting it or going uphill, was an absolute pain and i never cured it! Changed nearly everything and also had all injectors refurbed, only thing i didnt change was the fuel pump as they cost a bomb and was not worth forking...
Hi all,
Having a few problems with my 2006 Clio 1.4 MK3.
1. There's a grinding noise when i go over bumps, hardly noticeable in warm weather but when its chilly its pretty loud and cringey.
2. Slight judder when braking (steering wheel shakes slightly)
3. Slight misfire on idle and keeps...
