Ill try force a thicket bolt in tomorrow and of that fails ill look into getting one of them helicoil kits! If it comes to that I should be able to helicoil the thread without taking the whole thing off? If your a helicoil expert I wouldn't mind paying you to sort it for me tbh! lol

Usual suspects for misfire are sparks, ht leads, coils and injectors. I'm in the process of sorting out a slight misfire on my mk3 clio 1.4 and so far I have changed everything apart from injectors which arrived today lol

Do you have a spare key to try?

Might be worth giving it a full service (all filters inc fuel filter, oil, spark plugs) and test the coils too!

Sounds like the butterfly valve inside the throttle body is sticking. What did you use to clean it? Try give the car a thrash on the bypass/motorway and see if that helps (stick to speed limits of course ;))

Could this be the case if it only happens when the engine is cold? does not happen when the engine is warm? I was thinking it could be one of the pulleys or something, the noise seems to speed up as i press the accelerator?

the turbos are relatively small on these engines, if he slaps on a big inter cooler he's more likely to get turbo lag, a smaller yet more efficient inter cooler would reduce turbo lag and do a better job. only thing I would recommend doing is getting a straight through pipe made up from turbo...

Replaced spark plugs, replaced all ignition coils, removed and cleaned throttle body and fit new Air filter and Cabin filter :)
