Hi All,
Ive had my Clio for 2 years now - no problems - until tonight - or about an hour ago.
So i was driving and i could hear this faint noise, which was similar to when you have a flat the same kind of rotating dumdumdumdum noise,
Anyway - after a few miles coming home the noise was...
Pump! this happened to me, - pull it out, let the water drain out, keep everything because the new one i brought, was just the pump n no rubber for the end...
they are dirt cheap, should get one for like 10 quid or less
just want to say, mine has always done this, coming upto 5 years of ownership. dont worry ;) just give it a clean out once ina while.
if you check where your airpipe goes in, theres a breather pipe which connects to it, im sure it mixes there, because i find it there too ;)
Hello,
I Have here my 1.2 8v clio D7F engine variant,
Now, Im not all sure why but last week i noticed that every so often the car sort of missed a beat, like you know when you bunny hop but not violent, i figured it was my gear changes.
I thought not much of it, until say Friday when out...
was just wondering, how much would it cost to have cambelt and clutch done at the same time ?
or seperate ?
altho, i do have a friend who knows what with a clutch, so maybe just a full cambelt change ?
either way, advice would be appreciated :o
i have a 8v 1.2, and i think its a d7f ? :P
check your plugs, make sure they are nice and clean - i had bad idle/ irratic for a while, until i noticed 2 of my plugs had oil round them - changed the rocker gasket n it fixed it, but i would suggest replacing the battery anyway :)
thing is tho, ive checked my tyre depths ( usually you'd get uneven worn ? ) and there level really, theres no inside/outside wear so, im unconvinced its tracking, - i'll take a butchers look at top mounts :)

trackin was done im sure when it was in the garage havin mot n all that .. but ive had it done before n it didnt sort it .. lol
so the weels there are direct straight - if i 'centralise' the steering while driving, she goes off to the right - ive had a poke around...
ive got a similar problem with my steering actually.. might make a thread later n see if anyone knows what the crack is.. firstly to go take some pictures ... lol
yeah i helped my friend put an engine ina 106 gti, n we just but the clutch on that, stuck on the gear box n dropped it in.. was thinging, how easy are the gear box's to come off this ?
i did my rocker cover this weekend :) rubber gasket 14.58, new ht leads 30 quid .. oh and i got a bargain at halfrauds ! 235pc tool kit in a metal box with 2 draw's n a lid, all for 50 quid, i figured i need some tools :P the hardest part was getting them 6 bolts off the air intake manfold ...
my 1.2 8v, does that need specialist hands or could a local monkey garage do it ? - its due for a cambelt change .. so anyone in the S derbyshire area who wants an 'easy' job in the next month or so ?
its done 77k, had both the bearings replaced recently and the 'noise' didnt go away like i'd hoped ( if thats what your getting at ;) ) when i spin the drum,
you cant spin it freely it'll do maybe 1 rotation ..it's like something inside is rubbing the edge like metal on metal, so im guessing...
cheers for that :) will see what we can afford on payday lol kinda important really but hey ho its been makin a noise since christmas, im sure it can go a few more weeks lol
ah yeah., they clown behind the counter did say somthing about bedix, - is the diameter taken from inside or outside ?, because the one side is stuck on .. n going to need smashing off.. so i'd rather have the correct parts :P
take ya plugs out, give um a clean, make sure the ht leads are pushed on properly, not sayin it will work mind, but i had a lose ht lead cuz the rubber had got stuck. .
haha !! i did this to mine today !! the new plugs i got were out of the 3 sets for the 1.2 the most expensive ones too ... still got 15£ discount .. but still 30 quid lol
you need some really long nose plyers - i thought mine were long but my mate had longer ones
ok, so i kinda need new drums and shoes - now, i gave halfrauds my reg ( n my mates trade card number ;) ) and theres 2 types of drum.. and 2 types of shoes..
so one shoe set goes with each drum i presume BUT
does my car have either a) 180mm drums or B) 203 ?
and also where is...
well thanks any road to you lot :p gonna get some new ht leads tomorrow ( lol was a little gutted about fuel in the fuel rail tho ;) what a waste :( haha )
oh yeah, apparently they couldnt figure out what HT leads i needed today, as on there system ( at motormainia ) theres 3 types, they...
i followed your advice, didnt have a torque wrench so just guessed .. lol, but after taking everything off ( spending half a bloody day im sunburnt lol.. and not bothering going to bed tis morning after a night shift .. ) changing it, n putting a new one, all along the front of the old one it...
