Re: Brake light always lit...
Nope, it will displace the moisture but will leave it oily which is not good. If you are skint just open the light up and give it a good clean.
Re: Brake light always lit...
As above, open up light, clean the area, remove any water, spray with switch cleaner/moisture displacer. Servisol is a good switch cleaner.
Re: Brake light always lit...
Only guessing, but its possible that the brake light has a switched negative. Therefore the positive is already present and when water shorts out between the metalwork of the car and the light it is possible to bring the light on permanently
I just tried to close the drivers side front electric window on my clio 172 ph.1 and there was a horrible grinding noise.:S The window will no longer go up electrically (i have to lift it by hand) but it will go down on the switch. Has anyone any idea what the problem might be/how easy it is to...
I agree, I have a Ph1 172 X reg. with a genuine 33000 miles (I've had it from new) everything is immaculate except from the steering wheel, they are crap.:S
Local garage did it, i've only had it back for a day and I will take it back to them. I was just seeing if it could be a sensor or something simple first.
Just got my car back after cam belt snapped(Clio 172 ph1.) Fully repaired(new valves) it drives fine but wont tickover until warm, it doesn't even try to tickover. Anyone got any ideas, sensors etc? Cheers in advance.:)
Not sure, going to talk to a mate at work tomorrow who's a bit of a mechanic to see how involved it is.By the way the car is at heathrow at the moment as I broke down on the way to work.
What is the going rate for a 1 owner low mileage, silver, ph.1 172 non-runner? I've had two offers of £1000 and a £750 offer. The car is in excellent condition, mot/tax until June 2009, 4 good michelin pilots and hasn't a scratch on the bodywork. It also has renault service history for the first...
The aux belt seems to have split lengthways the garage said this probably caused the cam belt to snap. Thats why they are claiming its not their fault.I have my doubts now whether they changed the cam belt at all because if you did you would certainly change the aux belt.
Phoned the garage this morning and when i told them what had happened and that the aux belt looked oldish, they claimed that they had only changed the cam belt and not the aux belt.I argued with them that they charged me for a cam belt kit and the aux belt should be changed at the same time and...
