I have built my own and a Dual core processor is a must. SATA II drive is also a must. I have my operating system on a sepearte disk and the recordings on the SATA II disk. ALot of people buy a motherboard with SATA II raid and use the drives in an array configuration for higher read write...
Also the old 360 is 1080i and not 1080p but McBunny said the new 360 Premium is 1080p is this right ? (Not that will worry me as my plasma is only 1080i)
Where can you by Hard Drives for this to upgrade the existing drive ?
Thanks for the info, so just to sumerise, the Elite is a stop gap until the New 360 Premium is available with the new hdmi connector.
I did seem to think though the 360 Elite had the HD DVD drive in. Oh well..
I've had an old xbox for a number of years now and want to upgrade to a new 360. I have just seen the 360 Elite and have to ask a few questions..
1. Will the Elite play old Xbox games as I still have a fair few kicking around

Being of a similar age Clarel I know where you are comming from. My first car was a bit of a sh1ter TBH but it was fairly quick. Cost me £300 TFPT when I first started to drive which for a 5 door 1.6 wasnt bad at all at the time (1992).
Lately I have been finding though the price of insurance...

Sorry mate but, if you have a car that has a knock sensor the fuels octane can be made use of, especially if the car has a high compression ratio, having said that you are right in the fact that cars like Scoobies will benefit from the higher octane value as it is less vulnerable to detonation IIRC.
I think Optimax IIRC is normal unleaded with additives, apperently it does have a shelf life which is very short, I can only assume that the additive is very volitile and goes off quickly if not used
