    German X65 cup racer handbook?

Small world. Nobody ever seems to know. Even if you try to search old Lucas/Girling refs for them (the RSport ones are machined down to clear) nothing really comes up sorry. 😞

    German X65 cup racer handbook?

Hey BTN, ive never managed to find any details about these or the longer stroked/softer damper setup they ran at the NS despite having both. If you check out the Renault sport Clio 2 Cup X65 & 2RS trackdays group theres a recent post where Benji has said he's looking to have some pistons...

    cup racer bilsteins

Hey man long time no see. Afraid not, had someone else asking about them recently aswell. Think bilstein will manufacture them to spec. Pm me if you need any help with the rsport casing refs.

These were my thoughts too - seems a pretty risky solution. Thats the same as the x65 Mark. Just a regular 90° fitting with a ferrule to crimp it on.

Fair play, made some decent progress with it all Mark - top effort mate! Just need to keep up the momentum and get her up & running. I forgot about the fuel line photo. Will try remember for tomorrow sorry mate. Is that fuel line on the pump union just secured with a hose tidy jubilee clip?

What makes a Cup Car a Cup Car? Other race/rally Clios?

Yes mate no problem, i had to send the other guys the earlier version as the latest one was too large a file size to email. They're essentially the same though. Fire over your email in a pm and i'll sort it out when i next get on the laptop. The parts catalogue is just the same as the one i...

    Footrest

Yes i have an empty shell that i can get a photo from. I cant remember the shape of floor pan on the megane for the two plates that clamp onto the carpet but its alao anoter option for you. I think the problem you will have is your arch is already raised, so whatever you mount up will stand...

Clio cup racer - trackrods - which way round?

They look to be a lovely bit of kit. May be interested in your old ones... Not sure RE switching them around sorry. Is it worth giving Pure a call to get a feel for the magnitude of the cumulative effect from moving the hub pivot forward? I'm guessing ackermann/bump besides the...

    Footrest

I will see about getting a photo Gerben. You could always do similar to the Megane 2.0 as this has two metal plates riveted together with the carpet between them. I think I have one I may be able to sell you if it sounds of interest, I'll check.

Clio cup racer - trackrods - which way round?

Wouldn't know about the geometry, but have seen they're sided. There should be small marks on the TREs, one mark for rhs and two marks for lhs as per the build manual (36-5). Are you using the pure adjustable w/bones now?
  16. p@blo

    Footrest

Can you not use the Carbon foot rest or is your car still in road trim with carpets etc? Not sure the RHD mount would fit as there's a bracket welded to the shell that the plastic foot rest screws onto. Don't you have the wheel arch to rest your foot on?

    172 Tarmac Rally Car

Ah right fair play, guessing someone had just riveted it to hold it in place ready to weld. New plate looks tidy, good effort. Are you just stripping out the silver shell or did it get damaged?

    172 Tarmac Rally Car

New shell looks decent Sam, looking forwards to seeing this when its all finished. Was the 182 floorpan too corroded to keep in?

    Off Topic Race Series Opinions

You did say about the Golf series when I last saw you Stu, but now you mention it - the Civic cup sounds good like it'd be a good craic. Seems a pretty solid engine/chassis combination. OT but you still going to Oulton next month pal?

    Another suspension thread

Is that the GTX kit? Look nice. Rods are probably somewhere around 10mm dia - looks like an invert monotube so would've thought that's the outer casing of the insert.

What makes a Cup Car a Cup Car? Other race/rally Clios?

Guess it was the best fit item out of the parts bin that worked with the rollcentre correction. Think the bearing is bigger, at least compared to the early style 172 hub. If i remember i'll put up a couple of shots of them side by side. PM your email and i'll fire over the pdf for the build...

What makes a Cup Car a Cup Car? Other race/rally Clios?

I just have the build manual - no technical specs sorry. The parts catalgoues will give a bit of a feel for whats different. clicky Suspension wise all evos ran bilstein dampers with 1000lb front & 400lb rear springs with modified Laguna mk1 hubs (bushed insert to suit clio steering arms)...

    182 gravel set up

Would the residual pressure be enough to stop any air ingress into the reservoirs Steve? That said, had always assumed they had to be depressurised to reconnect.

    Hidden weight in a clio

Bar the piece in the rear quarter turret that's hard to get at, all of the tar I removed from my old ph2 non cup shell came to 8.74kg on the balance here at work. 172 Cup had less.
