Re: Brought a car then sold the car - How much have you lost?
Bought an R reg Mondeo V6 6 months old for 14,500 - sold it 4 years later for 4,000 loss = 10,000
Bought a new Focus ST170 with extras for 17,000 - sold it 18 months later for 11,000 loss = 6,000
Bought an Impreza new with...
Mine does 36 mpg driven gently and 31 mpg if you rag it - so it's up to want you want to do.
Obviously slower than a 197 but a lot quieter on motorways - also the engine is aluminium not iron as in the 197
It is an offence to use fog lamps unless visibility is 'seriously reduced' say to 100 metres
No problem with headlamps though when the light level drops
If you don't want to put cash into a depreciating asset then you will probably never buy a car.
I guess putting cash borrowed at a high rate of interest into a depreciating asset is even more expensive
I usually pay cash and get what I can afford unless the credit is interest free in which...
I use BP Ultimate Unleaded mainly because of the cleaning properties.
The picture is of the inlet valves of my GSXR 600 bike after 4000 miles only on BP Ultimate Unleaded - they are much cleaner than on other bikes run for a similar mileage.
Sorry about the c++p picture
After a while they get full of bacteria that cause the smell.
You can get an aerosol that you can set off in the car with the air con on, the fan set to recirculate the air and the windows shut. The aerosol works continuously for about 5 mins so the vapour is circulated through the system and...
My wife has a 1.6 same fuel comsumption as the 1.4 but with a bit more power but a lot more flexibility due to the variable valve timing. Has averaged 37 mpg over the last 9000 miles.
Dynamic S trim and alloys look good imo
It's a new 138 PS engine developed with Nissan - it appears in the Qashqi.
Great smooth engine, twin balancer shafts, timing chain so no belt to replace and its an aluminium block so a lot lighter than the 197. It comes with a nice 6 speed gearbox.
I've got the same car and really like it. What is amazing is the smoothness of the engine that Renault developed with Nissan.
The engine is made of aluminium unlike the iron block in the 197. It also has a timing chain instead of a timing belt but it is the twin balancer shafts that give you...
Yes:banghead:
What was worse the 195/50 R16 88V tyres that are fitted to the cars with 16 inch wheels are almost impossible to get. They had to get one from 50 miles away when I had a puncture that wrecked the tyre!
I really like the trim/kit on my wife's Clio 3 Initiale so I was going to swap my Dynamic S for one. Trouble is the 2.0VVT 138 petrol engine (as fitted in the Nissan Qashqai) is only available in the Dynamic S. In fact you cannot have a petrol manual in the car, only the 1.6 VVT K4M engine as an...
I don't want a full induction kit, but I was wondering about changing the standard panel filter for a K&N.
Has anyone noticed any improvement in performance/fuel consumption by just changing the panel filter please?
The filter in my Dynamic S 2.0 VVT is the same as on the 1.4 and 1.6...

I used to have a 2003 R1 but have a GSXR600 K6 now. I have ridden the GSXR750 K6 and it's a fantastic bike and IMO the K6 stubby can looks so much better than the thing on the K8 bike
Hi All, Just joined so I thought I had better say hello. Never owned a Renault until last year when the Impreza WRX was swapped for a Dynamic S 2.0 Clio. Really like the car and look forward to getting lots of advice from you guys.
