Hi everyone! Not much has happened since my last update. I've just had a service at David Paul of Warrington at the cost of £260. I've also been told that I have a bit of work to do before my next MOT. The work being, new wishbones, haldex oil and filter change, rear discs and pads, airbag...

So I found it in myself to brave the cold yesterday and fit my exhaust. I got the car up in the air on my 2 axle stands and set about removing the exhaust clamp just after the cat. By this time James Bryan had come round with his camera to take some pictures and laugh at me...

Got the phone call today to say my exhaust had been done and that I could collect it from the contractor. More than happy with the quality, the guys that did it really are top notch welders. Heres a couple of pics, 63mm hygienic pipe welded in where the mid box was.
Old...
I would but its going to cost a fortune, not quite Varient 3 money though ;). I would still need adjustable tie bars etc and then some decent wheels, its looking like £1500/2000 for everything!
No, It's not been touched over Christmas but thats what you get when you give it to someone else to finish off. Apparently they are waiting on some 2.5" hygienic pipe to be delivered but I reckon I might just order some from JBS Auto Designs. Its £28.80 for 1m if I really need to get hold of some.

I did say my next mod would be the TIP that I talked about earlier in the thread however after discussions with my mate in work (Turbo crazy) he convinced me to get a boost guage to see that my actuator was set up correctly. Thinking about how important getting boost settings...
I've seen the TIP that you have and that was the original TIP Bill designed as part of the 3" version. I think he then managed to get it made so that it didnt have that metal section in the middle.
I'm the same height as you and like it was said above its very comfortable to drive, I drive 50 miles a day too and it's ridiculous how comfy it is to drive.
That could be the problem then haha! Mine sounds quite grunty but all the noise I front end. I've got a modded airbox and you can hear such a difference over standard.
It's not been put on yet, I'm still waiting for it to be finished. When I told the guy at Pipewerx what I would be doing with it he said it would be really loud and that was with the cat and mid box so your mates exhaust being quiet really does suprise me?! This is a video of a 3" straight...
You're right! Did you have the V1 or V2 of this product Tom? Apparently the first version changed diameter from 3" at the MAF down to 2.5" where as the second version is 3" from the MAF all the way down.
Listening to alot of peoples opinions they seem to rate it as a worthwhile mod.
No, I didnt go. I don't really go on the TT forum alot but when I tried to log on yesterday I couldnt get on either. I've seen your car on there, looks nice!

Still waiting on my exhaust to be picked up from work! I thought I'd upload some powergraphs for you all from our recent trip to RS-Tuning. Very happy with the figures after seeing how bad my original powerfigures were.
Graph with old map. (I didn't even know it had one)...
Update: 19/12/11
The back box is now welded up (to the best of my ability). I'm sure there will be a pin hole I've not covered somewhere but until it's on it's pretty hard to tell. I've now handed the whole exhaust over to a contractor in work as I can't weld the mid box back up. The...
As James said, it's purely a trial so I don't know how this is going to turn out.
Brett, I think I might pop along on Saturday yes. Hopefully I'll be able to get this finished today and maybe on the car for tomorrow. (Who am I kidding!)
Kris, I can demonstrate decent torque if you do ;)
Cheers for that James haha! I've had more replies on here in 1 night than I did in over a week on TT-forum. Hopefully I should be Tigging the rest of it up tomorrow so it should be on for the weekend. I think I'm going to leave the mid box alone for now.
Back in March I bought an Audi TT 225. Haven't really kept a progress thread about it but I posted on TT-Forum last week about and exhaust modification I was looking into and I thought I may aswel copy it over to CS seeing as I've sort of lost touch with it. The TT has only had a V6 rear valance...
I agree that even if you weren't really that bothered about knowing what your car was putting out, that it was good to actually see if it was healthy or not. I found out that I actually had a really bad map where it looked like all someone had done was turned the boost up. I had good initial...
So my best bet is to try and get hold of stupidly long ethernet cable(S) and have them trailing all over the house :dapprove:. Would it be worth moving my main socket upstairs?
I recently called BT to express the frustration at having a poor internet speed. After my delight of them performing a quick speed check they found that we were recieving a super fast speedy broadband speed of just 300kbps. Anyway, an engineer was booked and after coming home i found a note from...
Me and Adamh182 thinking of having a get together on either Screwfix or B&Q tomorrow if anybody is up for it? Probably late afternoon say between 4 and 7 sometime?
Kris he pays something like 2200 insurance on it. He traded his R53 Cooper S and M3 CSL in against it. James Pics are awesome, especially like the last one of mine. Doesnt look much next to James's GTR though :( haha!
