Hi Guys,
Reckon its about time my track 172 Ph1 had some TLC and thought I'd start with replacing the bushes all round.
What bushes do people recommend for a car that's pretty much just used on track?
Any links?
Thanks guys, so just to be sure if I need to buy an identical top dash to the one in the picture, I'm looking for a non sport Ph1 dash without a passenger airbag?
Alternatively I could use a 172 Ph1 dash top but when I remove the airbag I'll be left with a hole?
Hi Guys,
Before I post in the Wanted section I need to make sure I'm buying the right dash top...My Ph1 172 track car has a tatty old one that needs replacing but can someone confirm if I have the standard 172 Ph1 dash or the 1.2 non sport version fitted
The one currently fitted has the tray...
Hi Guys,
I'm trying to source a 2nd hand gearbox for my 172 Ph1 and am a bit confused by exactly which one I need.
Number on the box is 7700599940 - is this enough to identify it?
I've seen JC5-130, JC5-089, JC5-129 What are these different variations?
Thanks
Joe
Had one of these for 2 years, ex demo model so had all the bells and whistles, just recently swopped for the new Focus ST

Yeah when I say no spare cash I mean with regards to a deposit...the actual monthly repayments are manageable
PCP seems not a bad choice as you dont need a large initial deposit?
Ok will investigate some pcp deals on nearly new cars, see how they compare
Thanks fellas
I can see myself in it for 4 years, I don't tend to change cars very often
Spoke to a dealer today and they have no unregistered 200s left with cup packs and recaros (which would be my ideal choice)
Needs to be PCP option really as I have no spare funds for a hefty deposit, I thought PCP deals...
Peoples thoughts on the pcp deal below?
The figures are based on our showroom car, which is Glacier White with Cup Chassis and 17” Black Speedline Alloy Wheels.

My 182 one is falling apart, how much are they new from Renault out of interest?
There were a couple of guys on here doing retrims but not seen them for a while, not sure if there were some problems
There are a fair few threads listing mods if you have a search (not saying you haven't)
May be tricky as a lot is down to peoples opinion and what the car will be used for etc
Idea does seem to have some merit though
So opinion seems to be divided over LUK clutches

Couple of bad experiences in that thread
Fred - Do you rate the Valeo over the LUK? My car is a track car but is only running standard power...

These seem the cheapest for a Valeo I think?
Just called GSF Birmingham (who run the ebay shop I think)
They are saying they cant offer the Valeo clutches any more and he's not sure why the listing is still on ebay
Looks like I'll be getting a refund :(
I bought this exact kit a few days ago and this came through the door
LUK is a different manufacturer to Valeo right?
Have they sent me the wrong one? :S
I think thats the high pressure line
Im terrible with tools so it took me a loooong time to take the old one off, in the end it snapped, would have taken even longer to get it out in one piece!
Help from a mate took a few hours to get the new one connected at the pump end and the steering rack...
The low pressure or high pressure out of interest?
My high pressure one went at Bedford last month and I just replaced it at the weekend
Right balls ache of a job, still cant quite get all the fixing points in place so have used about 20 cable ties to stop it moving
