Does anyone know where I can source one? I ordered one off eBay and it arrived broken! The same as my current one. The casing was damaged. So not going down that route again I don't think. Its going to be about £600 to have the casing on mine fixed... was thinking a new gearbox would be cheaper...
This was my initial thought... but because its going into gear without grinding without touching the clutch, makes me think otherwise. But you could be right, I'll take it to a garage today and mention both to them, see what they find.
Hey... my car stopped working today at a T Junction. I put it in 1st to pull away and it just revved like it was in neutral? So I put it in 2nd and it did the same. It did it in every gear.
Anyone had this problem before? Its not driveable at all, the engine runs fine and it has no warning...
More than likely the air filter being slightly loosly connected and what you're hearing is induction noise. Mine does it cause the airfilter rubber has a rip in it.
Wow, someone needs a spell check. When you lower a car the idea is generally to get it low... and I didn't say anything about the rear being lower than the front? Asshat.
It won't unbalance the car... the reason they put weights on your wheels is because the wheels themselves are not correctly balanced, not your car... a hoseclip or something will be fine... mine just slips over and seals fine. Anyways, quit worrying just do whatever works.
I personally would...
Just waiting for the springs to bed in some more so it gets even lower. Only fitted them at the weekend. Gonna have some 14inch wheels on it too, with low pros to get it lower after that.
Now dropped on FK's...
Still want to go alot lower, so will have to fine tuning to do... rear has the arch liners removed and the adjustable coilover rings are completely removed too. Fronts were adjusted low enough for the wheels to turn, but they scrub a bit on full lock so I need to see what...
So... I've found where to let the oil out from the gearbox under the plastic cover... but where do I fill it? The guides pic is very blurry. Its important I get this done today so I can get to work tomorrow. Appreciate the help fellas.
I did it on the passenger side. Basically support the lower suspension arm, as the brakes fall down when the suspension turrets are removed and when it drops down the geometry pulls the drive shaft spline out of its cv boot and spills oil everywhere, as I found out! I did have it supported but...
Hello,
Need some help asap... I have a mk2 ph2 1.4 16v clio and need to change the gearbox oil, ie: drain the old out and fill fresh oil in there. Basically, when I was fitting my coilovers today... the driveshaft spline came out and emptied all the oil into the street. (me = not happy) but all...
For my 1.4 16v... How easy/ hard are they to fit? Anything I should be aware of when tackling it? Anything anyone else has found useful doing it in a certain order etc... special tools I may need? throw helpful comments and advice at me! go!
Cheers guys
Haha mate know what you mean, I have french plates too and had a BMW driver undertake me up a sliproad... then at the traffic lights we stopped side by side and he sticks his head out the window "you wanna learn to f**king drive mate, don't they know how to drive where your from?" I'm like...
